Pulling up outside of Fèlicitè's house, Marshall let out an audible sigh. He didn't know what to expect when he talked to her, but he hoped that she'd at least house his girls and him for the night. If she didn't want them staying there, except for overnight, he'd understand. He didn't want to pressure her, so he'd make sure it was known that he and the girls would just go stay with DeShaun if she was afraid they'd cause too much trouble for her.
"Daddy, why are we at Fizzy's house?" Hailie asked, causing Marshall to look towards his daughter in the backseat.
"We needed to leave the house, baby. I promise it won't be bad here. Fizzy is a good person, you two know this." Marshall replied, smiling sadly at his girls.
He knew his girls didn't completely understand the situation at hand, but if either of them understood it, he knew it would be Alaina, since she was the oldest of the two. They were both bright girls, so he knew it wouldn't take them long to figure out something wasn't right between Kim and Marshall anymore, if they hadn't already figured that out a long time ago.
Stepping out of the car, he held his daughters' hands and walked them to the front door. It was already almost eleven at night, so he knew Fèlicitè was probably already asleep, which made him feel really terrible for coming by her house so late. He didn't know who else to turn too, except for DeShaun, but he knew DeShaun had problems of his own to sort out as of recently. He couldn't go to anyone else, since everyone else may not have understood his situation as much as DeShaun and Fèlicitè did.
Knocking on the front door, he held his breath slightly, hoping he didn't wake Lesane by knocking. He could hear slight shuffling of feet on the other side of the door, before locks were turned and the door was opened. He immediately seen a tired and confused Fèlicitè standing at the door. Instead of asking any questions, she allowed Marshall, Hailie, and Alaina into her home. She wasn't going to leave them in the cold Detroit weather, not if she didn't have too.
"What are you guys doing here so late?" She rasped, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"Slight complications at home. I was hoping we could stay here a few days," Marshall began, before looking Fèlicitè in the eyes to show sincerity,"You don't have to say yes though, we could always stay with Proof. We just need a definite place for the night at least." He finished, though he hoped slightly that she'd say yes.
"Do you have stuff for staying over?" She asked, biting her lip in thought.
Fèlicitè wasn't sure if she could have them living with her for a few days, but she couldn't turn them down. She knew she'd hate herself if she turned down Marshall and his girls. She had grown to care for the girls, so turning them away would never really be an option for her. She guessed now that she'd have to get use to them being around for a while, since she wasn't sure how long Marshall was really planning on staying with her. She really didn't care how long though, since she figured whatever the issues were at home were probably pretty bad to get Marshall to leave in the middle of the night with his girls, bags packed, and pajamas still on.
"I'll explain once the girls are in bed, if you want." Marshall said, causing Fèlicitè to shrug.
"That's up to you. If you need to talk, I'm here to listen." She replied, making him smile lightly.
"I'm going to go get our bags. I'll be right back." Marshall commented, before he walked back outside.
The girls stood in the same place they had been standing since they had walked into Fèlicitè's house. They felt a bit sad with what was going on, but were also very confused.
"Would you girls like me to bring you to the room you'll be staying in?" Fèlicitè asked, causing the girls to nod.
The girls were honestly very tired, even though they didn't want to tell Marshall. With the way Marshall had raced over to Fèlicitè's house, they figured he wasn't in the best of moods, so they didn't want to bother him. They followed behind Fèlicitè, coming to a dark brown door that was closed. Fèlicitè opened the door, turned on the light, and revealed a light grey colored room with a king size sleigh bed in the middle. The bedding was all royal red, the furniture was all black, and a rather nice tv was placed right in front of the bed, against the wall.
"There's a bathroom in there," Fèlicitè said, pointing towards an ensuite,"You girls can use that bathroom while you're here. There's towels in the closet in the bathroom. If you need anything, don't be afraid to ask." She added, making the girls nod.
The girls kicked their shoes off and laid them next to each other near the wall. As they were climbing into bed, Marshall came into the room with their bags. He laid them down on the floor, trying not to make a mess of the bags that were packed.
"We can put the stuff in drawers and hang them up tomorrow, so they don't get wrinkles." Fèlicitè commented, causing Marshall to nod.
Marshall kissed his girls goodnight, before Fèlicitè switched on the tv and then turned out the lights. As she closed the door, she could hear Marshall heading down towards the living room.
"Where are you going?" She called, causing him to stop and turn towards her.
"Going to get set up on the couch." He replied, and she laughed.
"Oh, come on, we're adults. You can come stay in my room with me. I don't bite." She retorted, making him chuckle.
He followed her to her room, where he laid his bag down on her floor. She told him the same thing about his clothes as she did the girls, before she laid back down in bed. Marshall kicked off his shoes, laying down next to her.
"You going to tell me why you showed up at almost midnight with your girls?" She asked, causing him to sigh.
"Kim cheated on me," He replied, causing her to gasp,"That wasn't even the problem. The problem to me was that she sent the girls to bed early, brought him to my house where my girls were, and fucked him on our bed." He stated, anger slowly rising in him once more.
"Oh Marshall, I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry. I can't believe she did that to you and the girls. I'm not the best with words, especially nothing like my father, but I can try my best. Just know, you and your girls are always welcome here with me and Lesane. We'll always welcome you guys with open arms. You'll never be alone or have to worry about anything with us around." Fèlicitè said, kissing Marshall lightly on the cheek.
Slowly the duo began to fall asleep, but Marshall couldn't help but listen to her words over and over in his head. In that moment, he had wished he had married someone like her instead of Kim. She was what he and his girls needed, but he wasn't about to make a move. He had a feeling that these feelings were purely based on his problem that had occurred during the night. By morning he would be thinking straight, but through the night, he hoped to enjoy the closeness he most sought out...
