Félicité knew she had to tell her grandmother about the baby, now that she had a baby bump forming, and people would start realizing she was pregnant. So, with that being said, she decided she'd use a scan as proof for her grandmother. After grabbing multiple scan copies, she placed them on her bed. She knew she'd remember them, as long as they were in her eyesight after her shower.
So after taking a shower, she slipped on a pair of black, high waisted, jean shorts, a grey Guns n Roses cropped top, that was a bit baggy and had holes in it. After putting on a pair of black Doc Martins, she fixed her hair and makeup and then slipped the scans into her back pocket. Once she was done getting ready, she headed out to her car.
She's going to be so disappointed, she thought to herself. She had never told her grandmother such news, or anything remotely similar in her life, so she was terrified. She loved her grandmother though, so she hoped her grandmother would be at least a bit understanding with her news. As she pulled into the driveway of her grandmother's house, her heart began to beat quickly, almost as if it were beating out of her chest.
I can do this. She kept thinking to herself, though her hands shook faster the closer she got to the door. Once she was at the door, she knocked slowly, hoping it might buy her some time. A minute later though, she heard her grandmother unlocked the door. As the door was opening, Félicité's only thought was I can't do this.
"Félicité? What are you doing here? You never said you were coming. Is everything alright?" Her grandmother asked, causing Félicité to sigh.
"I have stuff I need to tell you." She mumbled, causing her grandmother to move away from the front door and let Félicité walk inside before shutting the door behind her.
"Have a seat, baby. Want something to drink or eat?" She was asked, but she shook her head.
"Promise me you won't get mad or freak out when I tell you what I have to tell you." Félicité pleaded, hoping her grandmother would at least give her some comfort.
"I'll try, depending on the news. What is it?' Her grandmother replied, as Félicité sighed in thought.
"Well, you remember what happened to me about five months ago, right?" Félicité questioned, causing her grandmother to nod.
"Yes, why? Is it still bothering you? Baby, it's not something you should be worrying about anymore." Her grandmother said, but Félicité bit her lip.
"Well, that's only part of it. My friends, Marshall and DeShaun actually went and tore up the guy's work place and house, they also beat him up. They did it not only because of what the man did, but also because of I'm-I-I'm pregnant. Almost five months pregnant to be exact." Félicité stated, causing her grandmother to gasp.
"You kept the baby?!" Her grandmother exclaimed, as Félicité nodded slowly.
"Yes, only because I don't want to get rid of it. I mean-The baby didn't do anything wrong. It's completely innocent. I feel like the baby needs some sympathy, especially since you know how Dad took me in after my mother pretty much tried to leave me for dead." Félicité commented, causing her grandmother to sigh.
"I guess you're right. Are you going to keep the baby or put it up for adoption when it's born?" She asked, causing Félicité to bite her lip.
"I-I'm going to keep it. Only because I've already become attached to the baby." She replied, and her grandmother nodded.
After talking to her grandmother, she decided to head home. Of course, being pregnant, on her way home she began to feel hungry. She began to crave Taco Bell, so she pulled into the Taco Bell parking lot. As she stepped out, she realized there was many people inside of the restaurant.
She held herself up at the car, wondering if she should even go inside of the restaurant. Then she realized that she had already told some of the most important people in her life, besides her father. She bit her lip, before getting back into the car and driving down to the cemetery. She slowly made her way inside, walking towards her father's headstone. She sat down beside the headstone, bringing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around her legs. She laid her chin down on her knees, staring at her father's grave for a moment.
"Daddy, I miss you so much. I wish you were here to help me through this. I have so much I'm going through right now, and I really need your advice. You were always so good with words. I'm having a baby, can you believe it? I mean, I know how the baby was made was quite terrible, I still have nightmares because of it, but the baby is innocent. I just wish you were here to hold me, help me through this, meet your grandbaby. I miss you so much, jesus, I love you so much." She cried, as she buried her face in her knees.
Her eyes began to close, as the sobs left her body. She just wanted her father, so bad.
**flashback**
"Why's people so rude all the time, Daddy?" Seven year old Félicité asked, causing Tupac to sigh.
"Well, I guess it's because the world has never had a reality check. The world's tough, but only as tough as you make it. People will hate you for who you are, what you do, what you look like, what you act like, but you can't let that bother you. Everything is difficult, no matter what, but you'll get through it somehow. I'll always be proud of you, so no matter how hard things are, you'll have me to fall back on. I'll always be there for you, even if I'm not able to be with you in person. I love you Félicité." Tupac answered, causing Félicité to smile.
"I love you too, Daddy."
