Moving in

Alessandra's POV

I stared at the empty room, filled with moving boxes. My mom and I had moved from Ohio to Seattle to get away from my monstrous father. My father was not my father, he was my abuser, my destroyer, the one who ruined me. I shook my head getting rid of the thought of him.

"Aless start unpacking darling. The sooner the better" my mom called from her room.

"Yeah I'll um just start"

I sighed, dragging myself towards the boxes. I tore them apart and began to set up my room. We had moved in to a 2 bedroom apartment, which was fairly decent and fulfilled our requirements. My mom has to work her ass off in order to maintain financial stability so yeah this apartment is a blessing.

I finished unpacking after a good 5 hours and decided to treat myself to moms molten lava cake.

"Honey all unpacked?" My mom asked as she walked in with a small box full of kitchen utensils.

My mom has soft features. Pale skin, intense hazel eyes, freckles coating her nose. She was beautiful. I on the other hand have simple brown hair which curls just below my breasts, brown eyes and pale skin.

I nodded. "Should I help you with that mom?" I asked.

"No honey its ok I got it covered" she put the box down and then stopped to look at me. She walked over and kissed my forehead.

"Oh honey. I cant believe you're 19 and going to college. It seems as if yesterday you were crawling around the house" she said, her voice cracking and her eyes tearing up. My mom was super emotional. Nothing like me. I guess you could blame my father for robbing me of emotions.

Tomorrow was going to be my first day in a new college. Im not a very socially active person so yeah I wasnt excited but I was looking forward to a fresh start in a new place, with new people.
