Hello, darlings, it's Annie, and I know that a lot of you guys are dying for an update. If you've read any of my other stories, you'll know that I never put in chapters dedicated to the author's notes between the chapters. And I'm sorry if you're angry if you thought this would be an update. I don't blame you. And to be honest, I feel kind of bad.

A lot of you guys read this story so consistently, vote on every chapter, leave wonderful comments, and I always say that your support keeps me going. I really mean it. I bathe in your support.

Yet here's the thing: most Wattpad writers use their support as motivation to write more, update quicker, etc. I'm not going to go on a rant that says !!!oh, I'm not like other girls!!! because let's be real, I'm kind of like other girls—no that's not the point. The point is kind of a long story if you haven't read the Author's Note at the beginning of the story.

As you know, if you seriously haven't read any of my previous Author's Notes, BEFORE IT DIES IS A REWRITE OK?

And though the rewrite is so dramatically different than the original story that it's nearly a completely different story, it is a rewrite nonetheless. I am less focused on this story than a story I am writing on fanfiction.net, a Naruto fanfiction where the fanbase is bigger, which I am on a strict updating schedule with. For that story, I write 6k words a week. Therefore, Before it Dies is more or less a story I write on breaks.

But BiD is so much more than just that. BiD was the first story I have ever completed on Wattpad. It was what started me into my love of writing. And it was the first story that made me realize how valuable practice and patience really is, after noticeably seeing changes in my style on writing skills. It was the first story I decided to rewrite. It was the story that made me realize how important planning is. So your support, all your votes, comments, and love, are being used to tell me to stop writing.

Because I learned the first time around that pushing yourself to write more rather than write well is deadly. This is no longer the story with a bunch of updates all the time. I want to give you guys quality chapters. I hope to thoroughly plan out this story, to break down each chapter rather than just writing the just of what happens down on a sheet.

With Chakra Wires, the story I'm focusing on right now, I may finish it in a year if I consistently update. I realized while writing that story that making a minimal chapter plan is not enough. I have to make sure I get through to a lot of details. With Chakra Wires, the plot point chart is written, with BiD, it is not. I promised a good story with this rewrite and I can't fulfill that promise if I don't finish the detailed chapter guide.

That said, I'm sure many of you are wondering how long it will take me to write a detailed chapter guide. This is the part where I grit my teeth and give you a rough estimate that may or may not be true. I can tell you that BiD will be around 50 chapters, maybe more. That means 30+ more detailed chapter plans, AFTER a plot point chart. A plot point chart usually takes two-three hours, less if I am extremely focused. But this two-three hour doesn't mean I spend two-three hours writing it, it means that it is the two-three hours I am actually focused while writing it. Therefore, this range can go from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. Chapter plans take longer, around six hours. So with the overall time it will take me to complete the chapter guide maybe five days to five weeks. But as a secondary focus, this can take even longer.

I can write chapters without a completed chapter guide, however. Usually, on camping trips, I'll feel the urge to write Before It Dies. Then you might get a double or even triple update. But at this point, it may be another week before you see another update or another month. Your votes are being used to motivate me to plan. I love you all.
