Rei Yakushi is the first daughter of Oyama Yakushi and Nozomi, born in Yuki no Kuni. Upon her family's return to Uzushio, Rei entered into the Shinobi Academy right away, without the two years of regular school needed. In graduating, Rei was ranked among the top 15 students in her class. After passing the Chunin Exams on her second try, she became an instructor at the Shinobi Academy at age 23.
