My mom bought a sprinkle cake mix today, for my birthday. We baked it last night and frosted it this morning.
*laughs*
I taste-tested the frosting and the cake, and they were both packed full of sugar. Everything was absolutely perfect!
Until the crevice.
I didn't want to wait to frost the cake, so we stacked the cakes and frosted between the layers for a few minutes.
Then, we slathered the rest of the cake in frosting and waited for an hour.
Big mistake.
Mom was checking on the cake and saw that it split, which means a huge hole formed in the cake.
I'M NOT A BAKER! I DON'T KNOW THE PROPER CAKE TERMS! ASK PEETA BREAD MELLARK!
Ahem.
Anyways.
She said, "Oh no!"
I asked her, "What's wrong?"
"The cake!" she responded. "There's a huge crevice in it!"
She said "crevice" like "crev-as", so that's an inside joke between our family now.
It ended up completely collapsing, and almost face-planting (cake-planting?) onto the kitchen counter. It looked...not good, to say the least, and tasted full of sugar (which is to say delicious)
Here's the funny part:
She made the cake out of those cake mix boxes.
