It had been a long two weeks. Sin and Mel had been busy with Kelly. The guys had hectic schedules with the end of the year approaching, but when they had time they checked on the girls.

The weekend after the Buisness dinner and dance and after Kelly came back, Kyle went home for a short visit. His sister was visiting from London with her kids and his mom made him promise he would be there. So he did and he made sure he was.

He hadn't spoken to Sin much and Dean hadn't spoken to Mel much either. They had shared about a morning and goodnight a day, but very little more than that.

Sin couldn't understand why the stars hadn't aligned for her and Kyle yet. They hadn't kissed. They had just about hugged. And now they had all this unnecessary drama going along with it

When they got to the hospital with Kelly the day after she came back, the drama only got worse. She wouldn't let the nurses examine her for rape. Brian wouldn't say if she said she was or wasn't. And the nurses didn't know how to convince the high maintenance woman to allow them to treat her.

That was until the head nurse came behind the curtain and Kelly turned into a smiling lunatic. She was examined and sent home the same day. Brian again hadn't convinced them to let him handle her. Even after her flirting with the male nurse. Both Sin and Mel were surprised.

The following week consisted of Brain storming in a putting the silly girl back together. Sin and Mel tried to get her to talk about it but it always ended with them screaming at each other. So in the end it was only stopping her from leaving the room that they could do. Which was always as if they were fighting with a two year old for their toy.

Sin helped Kelly catch up her notes using Mel's note books. But even though Mel was there for Kelly, something had broken between the two girls. So Sin was being a friend while Mel was being a doctor. It was strange to experience it, but Sin knew it was out of her hands. She hadn't really spoken to Mel much after Sunday morning's conversation. But she felt she needed to

Sin came out of her Economics class and was surprised to see Mel waiting for her on the bench on the grass.

"You okay?" Sin asked when she approached the bench.

"Need some one to talk to." Mel confessed.

"Yeah I think it's time we talked about what's been going on. Are you coming from the dorm?"

Mel nodded, "Brian is with her."

"Alright let's grab a coffee."

"Off campass please." Mel requested.

"Okay I've got to put my books in our room."

"I've got the car, you can leave it there." Mel said.

"Okay."

They walked in silence slower than the usual Friday rush of young adults ready to party. For some partying had already started the day before, but for those like Sin and Mel, it would only start after a bit of homework.

The weather was warm but had a cold wind. A cup of coffee was exactly what they both needed. And possibly a couple of pastries as well.

They got to the car and chose the new diner but the rest of the ride was had in comfortable silence. When Mel had parked they got out and she locked the car.

The diner was full of people talking slightly louder than usual in excitement for the weekend. Mel took a seat in the back and Sin followed her lead. A couple of minutes later a waiteress came to take their order.

"So...." Sin began after she left. "You've been pretty quiet lately."

"Yeah." Mel agreed. "I've been thinking and dealing."
