THE BEGINNING OF A NEW END: The story of Cyborg 009 and Cyborg 003

CHAPTER #17- Beyond Elite

The 00 cyborg team used their reconnaissance intel to plan their attack on the Neuralmetics Facility. Thanks to Françoise they knew the lay out of the building and surrounding area. Great Britain had used his chameleon abilities to find out how the place was patrolled and when security personnel changed their shifts. Still their elite training from the many years of serving the UNG during war and anti-terrorist situations, made them extra cautious during missions. No matter how much intel and planning went into an operation, chaos theory guaranteed something would always go wrong or at least cause a surprise. Underestimating the enemy, was not something the Cyborg team ever did. The plan was to have Joe transport Chan inside one part of the building and light it on fire, after Pyunma and Françoise took out the power and back up generators. The others then would surround the building and attack. In case of arial assistance, Jet would remain outside the building, to prevent enemy escape and reinforcements from giving aide.

The eight cyborgs entered the town, avoiding the main streets and went in the direction of the Facility. Ivan kept them linked, so they could communicate telepathically, eliminating the noise of talking. Moving cautiously along a side street, they hugged the building walls. Even though their combat instinct was on par to none, Françoise's eyes and ears would alert them of impending danger. This was how they worked together on all missions. The town surrounding the Facility was a little too quiet. They hadn't seen any of the patrols, but that could mean they might run into hostiles at any moment. It was Pyunma who spotted a movement on a roof top and asked Françoise to confirm if it was the enemy. Once she gave the go ahead, Jet went mach 5 and took the cyborg wannabe out, in the same instant that the rest of the cyborg squad moved into doorways and behind columns, for shelter. When no alarm sounded and none of the enemy came, they carefully continued on. Françoise and Pyunma split from the others, as they went to complete their assigned task. The split second that the power was cut, Joe used his accelerator while piggy-backing Chan to a loading dock of the Facility. White hot flames shot from Chan's mouth, lighting everything on fire, like a Napalm bomb. Instantly augmented humans swarmed the cyborgs, like fire ants. Joe easily took away all handheld weapons and communication devices, but Françoise reported that the human-bots had nano-tech enhancements that allowed them to communicate without words, like telepathy. What surprised them, was the tank like humanoids. Their heads were human, but their bodies were tanks. Geronimo used his super strength and flipped all three attacking tank-beings. It was almost comical, because they looked like turtles on their backs... completely useless. He didn't understand why these tanks hadn't installed some device to help flip them right side up.

"Putting a human head on something, doesn't make it any more effective!"

Françoise reported, "Pyunma and I are in the Facility. I'm  going to hack their systems, while he provides cover."

Ivan said, "everyone start phase two."

Albert warned, "they are using armour piercing bullets, which means it can kill us too."

The battle continued, with the enemy having a high number of casualties; not killed, just completely disabled.

"We just received permission to destroy all the augmented humans, by any means necessary. We are not to take the lives of full humans." Dr. Gilmore announced and Ivan relayed.

Albert took point and unleashed his own version of hellfire on the humanoids. But his problem was that with the volume of the enemy force, he ran out of all ammunition and Françoise had to go get him reloaded. Jet took her back to the Dolphin, before returning to the fight. There were helicopters arriving, that fired both missiles and bullets. They were no match for Jet's speed and accuracy. Françoise raced to Albert on her modified motorcycle, skidding to a stop and used her ride as protection, while firing at the enemy. It gave Albert the time he needed to replace everything; rounds for the machine gun in his right hand, explosive missiles, laser cartridges, etc.
