One morning illiana went on her usual morning walk to collect sea shells for her collection and although what she found was not nearly as extravagant as what her father brought back to her and her siblings when he returned from his long fishing trips, she still enjoyed the adventure of finding something new.
The water had a sparkle about it this particular morning, she noticed a almost blinding flash coming from the waters shore line. It was a sea shell but none like any other, "where ever did you come from?" said Illiana with a tilt head and narrowed eyes. The starlit blue color that contrasted in the ocean blue water made it flash when viewed at different angles. She reached down and scooped up the shell as the water on the shoreline washed over her hand, to reveal her treasure.
As she looked up to take in the morning sun she noticed she was standing on wood that was moving to and fro, in complete disarray as her surroundings of home all but vanished. Men and women ingulfed her, some where yelling across the way to another "weigh anchor," "hoist the main sail!"
There was only one thought that crossed Illiana's mind that few words came out to express the acceptance of her current circumstance. "My God, I'm on a pirate ship!!" with this evident statement all but fell silent on board, the crew stared at her with raised brows and grins across some of their faces. None seemed to have bathed for the better part of a month and some held a face only a mother could love. The silence was filled with a roaring laugh, one mate yelling " Aye miss even me with my one eye can tell were me be!"
The feeling within Illiana was hardly small, she felt as though every eye on that ship could see her embarrassment. With her face becoming rosy and hot it wouldn't take much to guess how ridiculous she had made herself to appear. Then a booming voice came from the back of the ship "SILENCE!" the snickering and pointing of fingers stopped immediately, no eyes or eye was raised for they all knew who this command belonged to.
Loud steps made of boards of the ship creek, and creek, and creek, until illiana could feel the presence of someone much larger and taller then she behind her. She slowly began to turn her body to face this stranger who she presumed to be the captain, as she lifted her eyes to meet his gaze, a smile flooded across the man's face.
"You came right on time! do you have any idea how long its taken me to get that darn sea shell to be in the right place at the right time?" A quizzical expression came upon Illiana's face " I'm sorry sir but what is your meaning, I had not the understanding that I was expected to be here at a schedule time. If I had only know I would have made haste to meet for I love an adventure like the ones my father told me about when I was a child! If I may ask why I am I here?"
The man took a step back and removed his hat " I apologize for the confusion, may I introduce myself I am captain Alistair. Welcome aboard the crimson tide miss Iliana, now all your questions will be answered in dew time, there is one matter I can set straight now." Almost yelling Illiana cried " Would you loosen your tongue already and tell me why I'm here!?" With a soften look in his eyes captain Alistair looked into her eyes and told the true meaning of this meeting "You are here to help me save your father."
