Best Friends Part One

A laugh erupts from my mouth, Percy was entertaining my friends and I at our usual lunch spot. He was telling us one of the Stolls famous pranks, he of course had to take out all of the demigodishness from it but it was still funny. My mortal friends didn't find it as funny but they actually don't have the full story. A smell passes in the air, lemon soap. Only one person has that smell. Annabeth. Percy seems to recognize the scent as well, his sea green eyes light up, his smile is brighter. He stops mid story, looking around giddily.
"Alright WiseGirl! I know you're here, stop hiding." He pouts and Annie laughs from somewhere.
"Awe don't you look cute?" She taunts. I can just imagine the smirk on her face.
"Oh shut up" he laughs. Annie comes from behind the tree, her long golden curls hang loosely down her back. Her smile goes eye to eye, she's wearing a grey shirt, that hugs all her curves, black shorts and roman styled sandals. He picks her up and spins her around, she giggles. I smile while my friends have astonished face expressions, all except Sydney, her face is twisted with rage. I give her a death glare, being best friends with Claire (daughter of Aphrodite) I learned the first rule at camp, never mess with Percabeth. She notices my look, in return she gives me a twisted smile. I glare harder but she looks at Annie with pure disgust, of course Percy and Annabeth are in a different world, kissing and giggling and being all couple-ee.
"Hi to you too Annie!" I tease, she turns her gaze to me, sticking out her tongue. We got closer because after the war I tended to her and Percy for a while.
"Hi Misty, how have you been?" She smiles warmly at me.
"I've been grand, I can't wait for the weekend though. I can finally see Hunter." My mind starts to wander else where, I think of Hunters handsome face and beautiful blue eyes, the way he laughs and smiles whenever I act 'cute'. I'm taking out of my day dream when Brad throws a grape at my forehead,
"Earth to Misty! You there?" I playfully glare at him but nod.
"She was probably just thinking of Hunter" Percy teases, my ears feel hot and heat rushes to my cheeks.
"Shut up!" I hiss, him and Annabeth laugh and shake their heads, Annabeth's stormy grey eyes shine with amusement.
"Oh yeah!! I brought you something." She pulls out her phone and text someone, she smiles pleased with herself. Seconds later a giant van pulls into the schools parking lot, the music is blared and Thalia is driving wildly. All heads turn there way, curious to know who they are. A smile spreads across my face, knowing Hunter is probably with them. As soon as the door opens they all tumble out, tripping over each other.
"Whose idea was it to let Thalia drive anyways?!" Barks Nico, a scowl on his face. Thalia grins sheepishly at him while his boyfriend Will Solace my older brother comforts him. Calypso raises her hand, a small smile on her lips. Everybody rolls their eyes at her, all except Leo of course. Hazel wasn't paying much attention, she was laughing at a text she got, on her newest iPhone. Percy had told me, once she learned how to use it she has never put it down. Frank kissed her cheek chuckling when she puckered her lips expecting a kiss next, her eyes were still glued to her screen though. Jason and Percy were having their bromance moment while Annabeth and Piper were just rolling their eyes at them. My face suddenly fell, Hunter isn't among them. Or maybe he's hiding? No that's stupid, he would've came out by now. A strong pair of arms wrap around my waist and his familiar scent of lemon grass enters my nostrils. I squeal and literally jump into his arms, my legs go around his waist and my arms around his neck.
"I know I'm hot, don't need to get to excited" Hunter speaks cockily, I smack his head, he lifts my chin so our lips connect, my stomach does flips and my heart is about to beat out of my chest, his lips are so soft and taste of coffee, I pull away from him, I brush my lips against his and he gives me a pouty look, I tease him for his conceited comment. Piper has her Aphrodite moment by giggling and snapping a picture of us, the guys wolf whistle and bug us. Thalia eyes Cynthia, probably going to offer her a card,
"Cynthia can I have a word?" Thalia's tone is sweet and gentle, Cynthia looks surprised but does follow her. Callie grabs Leo's hand and I guess he got too nervous because his fingers on his right hand catch fire, Calypso throws her head back and laughs, Leo blushes harder when Calypso kisses his cheek. Jesse and Brad immediately perk up, pulling out a smoke.
"Yes finally dude, you're a life saver! This idiot over here lost my light" speaks Jesse, he points at his little sister Lucy. Leo looks confused at first. The mist tricked their eyes, probably showing them a lighter (obviously) he lifts up a finger, letting them use the dancing flame on his finger. Cameron, Austin, Adrian, Ezra, Jessica, Sydney, Josh, Adam and Hunter all light one too. I give Hunter an irritated look, he doesn't do much training, which is stupid in my opinion, there isn't a lot of monsters out there but I still wouldn't want him to get hurt, he gives me his dazzling smile, the smile all Aphrodite children have. He takes a drag and just to annoy me even more he blows the smoke in my face. I push him away and give him a sour look.
"Stop being an ass Hunter" chides Piper. He rolls his eyes, but does listen to his half sister. Sydney smiles sweetly at Percy,
"Gonna introduce us to your friends?" She twirls a lock of hair flirtatiously, she speaks the word friends in a bitter way. Annabeth gives Sydney a look of amusement, I wouldn't be surprised is she had already figured out her weaknesses and strengths. Percy pulls Annabeth close, his arms around her waist and chin rested on her shoulder.
"This is Annabeth, my girlfriend. Thalia, Jason, Nico and Hazel my cousins. Piper, Will, Frank, Leo, Calypso and Hunter." Sydney's face hardens when he speaks of Annabeth, Sydney takes another drag, tilting her head back she lets the smoke out into the air above us. Us demigods have a look of discomfort, we could smoke, but it would be unwise, it would be really bad for the lungs, some actually do, being normal teenagers of course. Brad must mistake our look of wanting one, he pulls out the cigarette box,
"Anybody else want one?" The temptation of having one is expanding. The dreamy look Sydney gave Percy and the fake smile she gave me was the last straw.
"I will like one, please." Everyone looks at me completely baffled. Besides Percy and Annabeth I'm probably the last person to have one. Will moves in my way before I can grab it, oh so now he chooses to act like a big brother.
"Move" I snarl, he gives me this cheeky grin and straightens his shoulders.
"No, you haven't had a smoke and never will" I try push him but he doesn't budge. I give Nico a look for help. He smirks a little but unfortunately doesn't make move to help, well then.
"Come on, live a little, it's not like one smoke will kill her right?" Hunter speaks up, a hint of charm speak laced with his words. His blue eyes sparkle and he does sound convincing, Piper looks a pleased but doesn't speak up, I heard she has been helping her siblings charm speak, well the ones who deserve it that is. Will moves the slightest. I grab for it, the first drag I take I cough, a lot, I feel very dizzy and nauseous. Everyone laughs and Cameron steps forward,
"Okay breathe in. Now out. Okay just do that with the cigarette in your mouth so it goes here" he puts his hand on my chest, and taps it twice. Hunters left eye twitches the slightest, that always happens before he gets really mad. I inhale again, this time my chest feels tight, like someone is pushing down on it, heavy, I exhale and it feels light again. Thalia and Cynthia come back, Cynthia looking in a daze and Thalia looking accomplished. Percy starts to play with Annabeth's curls, showing her he's bored. (I picked that up when I watched over them and their progress for a week or two) she looks at him and kisses his cheek.
"Wanna go to the beach or something? Guys?" Percy obviously agrees, rather eagerly.
"Wait but you said we would go see that new movie that's coming out" pipes Cynthia.
"Right um I'll just go with you guys next week, right now I kind of want to go the beach." He shows no interest in us. I don't mind really, at camp we say 'Hi' and what not, so I'm used to kinda being ignored, I mean him and Annabeth are famous in our world, but since his friends are here he doesn't really need to hang out with me.
"But you promised!" Sydney pouts and stomps her foot, I roll my eyes and Annabeth gives her this look I can't decipher.
"Sorry Syd but me and My boyfriend have other plans." She talks to her like Sydney is a child. Annabeth smirks while Sydney glares and steam practically comes out of her ears.
"Come on guys!" Leo shouts ecstatically.
"Thalia is not driving! I won't allow it" booms Percy with his sarcastic grin on his face, Thalia only laughs and throws him the keys.
"Are you coming Mist?" Questions Hunter, I give Sydney a hard glare,
"I'll be there in a bit, I have something to deal with first" his eyebrows scrunch together.
"Are you sure babe?" I nod at him and put on my Apollo Child smile, he smiles back and they drive away.
"What the fuck is your problem?" I snap at Sydney, she only smirks.
"I don't know what you're talking about Mist, Percy will be mine. I'm going to make sure of that. Annabitch should watch her back, because I know he'll pick me, his best friend over his fake tanned whore." She looks smug and pleased with herself. I look at her for a second, then burst out laughing, Sydney thinks she's better than Annabeth? It's almost tempting to tell Annie this. Sydney's face falls, this was not the reaction she wanted.
"You actually think you're his best friend? What are you stupid? Those people who were just here are his best friends no correction they're his family so if you think he'll pick you over them and Annabeth you're one stupid girl who has a death wish." Brad and Jesse quickly come to her side, giving me a dirty look.
"We've known him longer! He'll choose us." Thunders Jesse, Brad nods agreeing.
"If you guys are so confident then let's go to the beach and ask" I grin at them, since I already know the answer.

Part two will come soon most likely in the morning, depends if I'm tired, there's still typos and what not I'll fix them later (maybe)
