Episode 1: Butterfingers
"That's the sixth time, Miss Viard." The man growled from above her.
The rookie's hand tremors became even more severe at that.
She desperately tried to steady them while sewing the last button onto the model's shirt.
"I'm sorry, I really didn't do it on purpose."
Mistake after mistake, Jamie had pricked the gorgeous man for the umpteenth time, making him call her out on her clumsiness.
Usually, the stylist wasn't this nervous while doing these things.
She had been the top of her class in university - even had an internship at the biggest modeling agency in New York.
However, since graduating with a masters in design, the girl was unable to perform at her full potential.
Maybe it had something to do with her past trauma, but all she knew was that if this issue persists, there's no way she'll become a successful designer.
Pushing aside her self-pity for a moment, Jamie finished up sewing as quickly as possible.
Albeit, her hands still shook but it wasn't to the degree of not getting the job done.
"There, I'm done."
The model made a sound of disapproval before standing up.
His stormy sea blue eyes cleared with forgiveness as they found hers.
"You're lucky you're cute."
She bit down onto her lips.
It didn't take a genius to know that despite almost marring his skin, the guy was flirting with her.
He smirked before heading to his designated area.
Jamie looked down at her watch on her wrist.
Her lips parted in disbelief.
It was already ten minutes to the show and she still wasn't finished with fixing the mistakes on a few clothing articles.
"Let's see who's next..." The words left her in a trail of thought as her fingers skimmed through a notebook.
"It's me, Butterfingers."
At the sound of that awfully pretentious voice, Jamie almost cursed.
Turning around, she faced her worst enemy.
"Toni," she greeted him stiffly.
The man, who looked like he just stepped out of a summer catalogue, stood in the middle of the room. His fox-like pair of eyes narrowed onto her figure. Just like a predator's would upon finding its prey. Then a slow upturn of his plump, pink lips came. He ran his hand across his face and she wondered if he got a cut by how sharp his jawline appeared in that moment.
She swallowed and looked away as he started across the room.
All the bones in her body stiffened at the sight of Toni Mccain.
She couldn't stand the sight of the guy.
In theory that is.
A face like his could never be frowned upon.
Not in this lifetime nor the next.
Jamie held back the insults she wanted to hurl at him, set on being professional this time around.
After all, it was no secret that the two of them were sworn enemies.
That had been a fact since the moment they first met each other.
