All We Do Is Plan How To Procrastinate Our Problems (And Almost Die While Doing It)

We gathered and formed a plow, Halfborn at the very front. While stabbing and slicing monsters we worked our way out of the circle they had made around us. Carter, the last one in our little war formation, took a burning branch and threw it towards the shadows monsters behind us. While it was still in the air he waved his sword and cast a spell. The branch landed right at the feet of our enemies and exploded, taking at least half of them to the grave.

Carter turned towards me with two thumbs up and a stupid smile on his face. I rolled my eyes but returned the gesture.

Morpheus stood with his back towards us and had his arms spread wide, but some of the monsters were still in our way. Alex suddenly left our formation. He ran directly towards the barricade made of our shadowy enemies. At first I didn't know what he was trying to do, but then I saw there was one small gap in the wall of monsters and darkness. Running at a very high speed, Alex jumped directly through it and vanished behind it after the monsters angrily closed the gap. Luckily none of them had the idea to just turn around and fight Alex. All they did was continue to attack us, which wasn't great, but at least Alex didn't have to face them all alone. What he had to face was unclear because all we could see from the other side of the small monster army was a garotte wire high in the air. Probably some left over monsters had to face their tragic end until the wire accidentally caught one of Morpheus's arms. The roaring wind dropped when Morpheus shouted out loud and turned around.

"What is this supposed to do? Huh, Alex son of Loki? Do you think you can beat me with a phone charger?" he roared.

The monsters stopped moving closer towards us for a second. Some of them turned around to face the battle of intense eye contact and made a circle around the two of them two watch their fight.
They blocked our view but now that everything was quiet around us we could clearly hear Alex's answer:

"First of all I'm the daughter of Loki-" she stopped for a second, then she continued, "At least now I am...And second of all yes, I think I could beat you. I could beat you with one hand! Now come fight me sleep baby!"

I could have sworn I heard Carter next to me whisper "so hot," but I wasn't really sure so I kept myself from being the jealous boyfriend. After all, I wasn't disagreeing with him. Still I might have given him a weird glance because when he looked me in the eyes he shivered and then waved to signal that I should come closer.

Meanwhile the monsters had started to move, and the wind was getting stronger again. I wasn't sure what Carter wanted to tell me or what he wanted to do. It seemed like we had more important things to do right now. For example, fight and save the world.

He waved again but the gesture was very small as if he was trying not to be noticed.

With a worried look back to check if Alex was okay, I followed Carter who was now running away from the monsters infront of us and towards a group of trees that had survived the fire.

When he seemed sure to have found a safe place to talk (about what I still didn't know) he grabbed me by the shoulders.

"Listen closely," he said, "I have an idea how to get rid of Morpheus but I don't know if it will work."

I brushed his hands off of my shoulders and while unsteadily walking in place, continually looked back at my friends who were fighting for their lives. From this point of view I could also see Alex fighting and running around Morpheus, hiding behind some of the trees that hadn't completely burned down.
I tried to focus on what Carter tried to tell me.

"You have a plan..." I repeated his words slowly, but my thoughts were still with Alex.

"Yeah I do-Didn't I just say that?" He shook his head. "Doesn't matter now. Listen to me, we don't have much time-"
