"Are we there yet?" Joey whined.
"Not yet, Joe," a very annoyed Ross said.
We had been in the car for 3 hours, and I was starting to get bored. I had been debating messaging my mum the whole time we had been in here. I knew she would never answer, but I really missed her. I gave in. I pulled out my phone, unlocked it, and clicked on messages. When I did, something amazing happened.
Adriana: Mum
Phoebe: Yes Addie
Adriana: Mum?! Is that you?
Phoebe: Yes of course it is sweetie. Why'd you ask
Adriana: Because you were kidnapped. We know the full story.
Phoebe: You do?
Adriana: Yes.
Adriana: Because Susan Bunch, your ex girlfriend, told us
Phoebe: Oh. Her. Go on
Adriana: So: Chandler and Susan were talking, and apparently Monica and Chandler were together? Anyway, they said as a joke to get revenge on you two, but Chandler meant it, so yesterday he poisond you at Central Perk, so that they could get the bodies into the car. Joey told me you had gone missing after school. I really really miss you. We only just figured out why Rachel went as well. It was because Chandler wanted to punish her for what he did to Ross. Also Susan forgives you.
Phoebe: Aaw honey I miss you too. And she really forgives me?
Adriana: Yep, and guess what!
Phoebe: What
Adriana: We're coming to get you!
Phoebe: Good. This place is like hell
Adriana: Tell Mon and Rach that we're coming
Phoebe: Oh yeah... about them... I can't tell them
Adriana: Why
Phoebe: Because they haven't woken up yet. I was faking being knocked out because my body fought it quicker than everyone else. I don't know if the other two can. Please tell the others that I love them. And don't be worried honey. I survived living on the streets when i was 14. I can handle anything. Love you xx
Addie: Yes, I'll tell the others everything. My phones about to die so I have to charge it. Love and miss you xx
Phoebe: Bye honey xx
Adriana: Wait mum!
Phoebe: Yes honey?
Adriana: How are you texting me
Phoebe: Do you really think Chandler was smart enough to take our phones?
Adriana: Nope
Phoebe: Thought so :P bye honey x
Adriana: Bye mum x <3
Ok. I need to tell the others everything that just happened. But first, charge my phone.
"Joey can you plug my phone in for me please?" I asked, as I handed it to him.
"Yeah, sure," he replied. There was silence for about 5 minutes while I thought about how to tell them. I decided on just coming straight out with it. I took a deep breath. Why was I so nervous? 'Just tell them, Addie!' I thought. 'You can do this'
"Uh, guys?" I began, my voice wobbling.
"What is it, honey?" Carol asked, her voice soothing me for some reason.
"Ok, this is going to sound odd, but I just texted my mum and she replied," I began. The whole car went silent again, except for the Beyonce CD playing in the background.
"She told me to tell you this: Mum was faking being knocked out because her body could fight the poison in her system. Monica and Rachel, however, are still out. She doesn't know if they would be able to fight the poison. She also said to not worry about her because she survived living on the streets at 14," I continued.
"How does she have her phone?" Carol asked.
"How smart do you think Chandler is? Smart enough to take they're phones? I think NOT!" I answered, earning a laugh from everyone.
"Ok. Text her and ask her where she is, and also ask if the other two are ok," Ross instructed me. Joey carefully pulled the charger out of my phone and handed it to me. I unlocked it and began typing as fast as my thumbs would go.
Adriana: Mum, this is important. You need to tell me where you are. What warehouse are you in
Phoebe: I don't know Addie I'm sorry
Addie: Its ok. And the others? are they ok?
Phoebe: I don't know. They're still out. The poison is still being pumped into them by a tube. I cut mine off, but I can't cut off the others. They must've injected some kind of drug into my legs because I can't walk.
Adriana: What's it like there? And what are you doing?
Phoebe: I'm lying on some sort of uncomfortable bed. And its the definition of hell.
Adriana: OK. That's all I needed to know.
"She doesn't know where she is," I said, putting my phone back in the charger. There was yet another silence, this time for a minute. Joey was the first one to speak.
"I really miss them. Especially Phoebe,"
"Me too, Joey," I replied. Realising what he'd said, I asked:
"Joey, why mum in particular?"
"No reason," he said.
"She's got to know someday, Joe," Ross said in a low voice. But not low enough for me not to hear.
"Know what?" I said.
"Nothing,"
"JOEY,"
"Fine. Ok, now this may come as a shock to you Addie, but..."
