Chapter 8

I quickly compose myself and keep my focus on the waves.

"Hey Emielia." I hear Danny say and I turn my head and acted as if I just noticed him here.

"Hi Danny!" I say to him.

"Mind if I sit?" He asks and I shake my head.

"No, not at all." I tell him giving him a polite smile.

If it weren't for the fact that my heart was beating so fast, I would've started talking to him.

"So, enjoying Pearl Harbor already?" I ask him starting up a conversation.

He turns his head to look at me, then looks back at the waves.

"Uh yeah, I like the weather here." He answers and I nod my head.

It goes silent between us as we both watch the waves.

"Do you, I don't know, want to get out of here?" He says in my ear sending a small shiver down my spine as butterflies started flying around in my stomach again.

I smile at him.

"Sure."

He gives me a smile and gets up wiping off any sand on his shorts and he holds out his hand for me to take.

As I grab his hand and for some reason, it felt nice to have his hand in mine, encased together.

I blush lightly as he lifts me up to my feet.

I then thank him as keeps his hand in mine and leads me away from the beach and to his 1940 Chrysler Convertible.

"Are you sure this is okay? I mean I don't want your friends to get mad at you." I ask him as I go over to the passenger side and him on the driver side.

He then shows me his smile and leans a bit over.

"Nah I don't think they mind besides, it doesn't look like they notice." He says and I turn my attention back to the beach to see no one paying attention.

I look back at him and smile.

"Okay. Let's get going!" I say as I open the car door and into the seat, while Danny does the same.

Before we left, I grabbed my beach bag just in case.

Once we pull up to the place, I look at it to see the diner that is here in Pearl Harbor.

Thank goodness I brought my beach bag.

I watched as Danny got out of the drivers seat and made his way to mine and opened the door for me.

I hesitate for a second, then get out of the car, which Danny closes when I get out of the car.

Just was we were about to walk in I stop in my place and Danny then stops and looks at me with a confused look.

"Danny, I'm going to um go grab my beach bag real quick." I tell him.

He looks confused for a second, then smiling and looking down, then back at me.

"Right, uh cause you are still in your bathing suit."

I nod and I got back to his car and grabbed in from the passenger side and rushed back to him and we both go into the cafe.

While he gets a seat, I rush to the bathroom to put on my cover-up.

I fix my hair and apply another layer of red lipstick and got out of the bathroom and made my way over to Danny, who spotted me when I started to approach the booth.

I sit across from him as a waitress come over to us to take our order.

Danny and I look at each other, then back at the waitress.

"I have a-" we say at the same time.

We both turn our attention back to each other.

"You go first." I tell Danny, but he shakes his head and telling me to go first.

I oblige and order a small chocolate shake, while he orders a coke.

After the diner, we both decided to talk and have some time to ourselves.

We were sitting in his car looking out at the ocean as it crashes against the shore as the sun was setting making it the perfect scenery.

"So have you been able to see your brother here?" Danny asked me as he turn his head to look at me.

"Uh no, not yet, but I'm hoping he is here." I tell him looking at him.

A familiar feeling caught my attention as we were both looking at each other in comfortable silence and leaning in a bit.

Memories fill my head as I remember what happened at the hotel, when he took me up to my room and we almost kissed.

Letting it happen, Danny and I's lips connected and fireworks went off into my mind as electricity coursed through my lips when he kissed me.

We pull away and connect our foreheads together looking at each other with half-lidded eyes.

"I think I'm falling for you." Danny whispers to me.

I smile at him.

"I think I'm falling for you too, Walker." I tell him and he smile brightens as we connect our lips into another passionate kiss.
