Survive Day 1

Axel POV 6 years old

I wake up with a groan. My face hurts, my body is sore. And I don't want to get up, but I have to. I go to push my body up to see what time it is and then I hear a rumble. "What was that", I look around frantically to see if I have to fight. When I don't see anything I get confused. I hear it again. "What is that". I look down as I hear the noise again "Oh it's you tummy". I guess I need to find some food and water. I slowly get up, my legs shake as I do. I lean against a tree to help me keep my balance once I'm up.

I look around me and see hundreds of large trees around me. It's dark. Oh! I'm in a forest. But the trees look different than they did at the pack. The leaves here are green and soft. The ones at the pack were thin and pointy. They hurt to fall into. I shake my head. I am not going back there. "Let's look for food". I don't see any animals, or hear any. I also won't eat any plants. Mommy said to not eat plants, they could be bad.

I start walking in a direction and look up. The sun is starting to set, I think. I keep my eyes and ears pealed to see if anything would hurt me. I am moving slowly, and just want to rest but I need foods.

The sun has set and it is black out. I'm scared, tired, hungry and thirst. I haven't heard any water since I started walking. I can see a bit in the dark. I look for a tree to climb and sleep for the night. Maybe I can find food tomorrow. I find the perfect tree it is tall and has a bunch of places I can climb. I get to the tree and have to jump up to the branch. I jump and just barely grab the branch. I pull myself up, and I'm panting. I look down and see that I am barely of the ground. I look up to see another branch. I see one grab it and pull myself up. I look down again and am happy that I am not so close to the ground. I try to get comfy, but I can't. I settle for leaning up against the tree with my legs on the branch. I close my eyes and try to fall asleep. Time passes and I hear crickets in the night. The sound slowly calms me to sleep.

The sounds of birds chirping wakes me up. I wipe my eyes and try to get the sleep put of my eyes. I go to stretch and almost fall out of the tree. My heart was racing and I threw my arm back to grab something to not fall. My claws came out when I tried to grab the tree. Once I have made sure that I would not fall out of the tree. I look at my hand and see my claws slowly go back into my hand. I am mesmerized buy the site of them. Once my claws are away I climb down the tree. It is much easier than going up. I don't know how far I've gone but I must be close to a human town. I walk in the same direction that I have been since running away. I use my ears and eyes to see if I can find any food. I also smell to see if I can find any water. I haven't eaten in two days, and I haven't found any water yet either. I have been walking a while and I see buildings. Not like houses but like store buildings.

I stay in the woods as I walk around to see if I can find a place that has food. I don't have any money, or at least that's what mommy called it, to buy food. As I walk around I see an old dinner. It is across the street. Cars are going by, back and forth. I want to just run across the street to get food. But mommy said to look both ways before crossing. I wait were I am on the edge of the forest waiting for cars to stop going by. I look both ways really quickly and make a dash out of the woods and across the street. There are woods on the other side past the dinner and I run to them. Once I am there I look back to see if anyone is following me or saw me. Mommy also taught me about stranger danger. I walk around the dinner still in the woods. I get to the back and see a dumpster. It stings from where I am and it is far away.

Maybe there is food in there? There must be! I run straight to the dumpster and jump in. I scare some rats in here, so I know that there is food. It smells so bad in here, I just want to puke. But I have nothing in my tummy. I shift through bags of trash and find half eaten food. I take out what looks to be steak, or is that meat loaf? I don't know. I smell it to see if it is okay to eat. It smells okay. I take a bite. It's not to bad, not as good as mommy's cooking. I continue to eat until I'm full.

"Hey what are you doing in there" a deep feminine voice asks. Uh oh. I'm in trouble now.
