Stanford was an excellent experience, but I'm afraid that like everyone else, I'll have to move on with my life. I'm so sorry that I ever had to deliver this news.

Sincerely,

Sophie Johansson

I wrote slowly, but surely.

I loved the fact that I was graduating from university, and finally moving out on my own.

I folded the handwritten letter into the envelope and went downstairs to put it into the To-Mail box.

I then went back up the marble stairs of my parent's mansion to continue packing.

"Sophie, Sophia, darlings! It's lunchtime!" my mother yelled.

"Yes, mother. I'm coming." I replied without hesitation, I was extremely hungry.

"Same here!" Sophia yelled back, she was in the next room.

Sophia was five years younger than me. In my opinion, we got along okay.

I came rushing downstairs, as I was still super hungry.

Sophia was already downstairs, stuffing her mouth with Mac n' Cheese. I guess she was also hungry.

I smiled.

I sat down beside Sophia and my mother, the usual seat I sat in.

We were a happy family.

It was during these happy times, that I regretted wanting to leave so much.

"This is delicious Mother!" Sophia exclaimed while taking a quick break from stuffing herself with Mac n' Cheese.

"I agree." I  hesitated to speak some more. Last time I did, I made a fool out of myself, rambling on, and on about the thickness of the cheese.

It was hard being a genius, others often didn't understand what you were saying unless you restrained yourself.

I'd learned that at an unfortunate time.

"So, how's the packing going, Sophie?" asked Sophia. She'd always been the optimistic and curious one.

"Eh, I'm almost done."

"I wonder how my packing will go when it's time for me to leave?" Sophia wondered out loud.

"Which one? Leaving for university, or leaving university?" asked Mother, she paused for a little bit. "Actually, don't answer that, answer the question about where you're going to university!" Mother laughed, everybody (including me and Sophia) laughed with her.

After lunch, I went back to packing. I was almost finished.

Tomorrow, I'd be driving in my own car, to move into my own apartment, using my own money.

I was proud of myself to have made it this far.
