It has come to my attention that Wattpad can delete an authors story without a 30 day notice or any notice at all. They also do not make sure the author has their stories backed up. 

  We deserve 100% ownership of the stories we write on Wattpad. Wattpad should not be able to just delete our stories. Especially without giving the author notice and making sure the author has their work saved on another app.

Wattpadders continuously asked and signed for dark mode. Now we have a Dark mode thanks to those caring souls. If we are able to get a dark mode, we certainly should be able to keep our stories.

Wattpad can delete your account and when they do, your stories will just disappear. I'm not even kidding. It will be like your account and stories never existed. You'll probably never see any of your stories again.

  So if you write five really popular novels on here. Don't act surprised if you wake up one morning and all your work has disappeared. Wattpad has more than 90 million users losing one user doesn't effect them at all.

You've probably heard of Jane Conquest. She had 100k followers on Wattpad and wrote 50+  popular stories. But her account got deleted for the stupidest reason ever ( she didn't know that posting private dms could get her deleted).

Imagine that having 100k followers disappear in an instant and all of your work gone. Wattpad didn't even bother to let her fix her mistake ( she would have obviously taken it down if they just asked ) and there was no warning given.

  But this means any story you have on Wattpad, may just disappear one morning and bam you're hard work is all gone. GOne Forever ( it's scary and if you don't have your work backed up, your hard work would be for nothing).

Followers ( Expert Tip : have your followers follow you on another platform because if your account gets deleted. Your followers and you will have no way of communicating with each other).

All of your drafts ( I had more than 15 drafts on my old account and all of them disappeared like they never existed. So all the effort I put in writing them was for nothing because I didn't have them backed up).

All of your books on Wattpad will be deleted ( It doesn't matter if your book is 200 pages long or you have one million reads, they will still delete it).

Your Hard Work.

It will be like your account never existed.

On top of that, they'll never tell you what you did wrong. Wattpad Help sends people the same automated response every time authors try to get their work back. The automated response isn't even helpful.

I love This app and I would love to see this app improve.

Please sign the petition in my bio to stop Wattpad from deleting users stories without letting them save their work. Even if it seems like they deserve it. Nobody deserves to lose their hard work, this is basic human rights?!

We all deserve 100% ownership of our stories, Wattpad should not be able to just delete our story. Without warning and/or letting us save it to another site.
