5 - Veronica Lodge - 5

'Your mission is to stop your father from taking over the town of Riverdale,' Pop Tate told me over the counter of his diner.

I left and wandered around the parking lot for a few minutes. How would that be possible? He's so much more powerful than me.

I decided that I couldn't do this alone so I started to walk in the direction of Archie's house.

'Hey Roni, what's up?' He asked as he opened the door.

'Can I come in?' I suggested, not wanting anyone to overhear the conversation and report back to daddy.

He led me into the kitchen and we stood at the island in the middle of it.

'I need to find a way to stop my dad from taking over the whole town,' I told him.

'Okay, you obviously aren't going to kill him because you're about a third of the size, so we just need a way to force him to leave town that doesn't involve violence,' he said, thinking out loud.

'Blackmail,' I mumbled, it was perfect! 'But I don't have anything to blackmail him with,' I realised, disappointed.

'Maybe someone we know has something we could use,' he said, thoughtfully.

We decided that Jughead would be the best bet, he was a Serpent so he knew lots of the bad things that went on in the town and who the mastermind behind them was.

Knocking on his trailer door, he opened it with his hair a mess. It was ten am but it looked as though he had just woken up.

'Veronica, Archie what are you doing at my place at this time?' He asked, yawning.

'Jug, it's ten o'clock,' Archie said playfully.

He let us inside and we sat on the black leather sofa in the front room of the trailer. It had rips all over it and looked as though it had seen better days.

'I was wondering if you know anything about my father that I could use as blackmail,' I asked.

'Wow, I didn't know you could be so mean, Veronica,' he replied, surprised, 'I do have something that could be of use to you.'

'Go on,' I pleaded.

'I overheard some Serpents talking about drugs in the Wyrm and one of them mentioned that the person who was taking over the drug business was Hiram,' he said tentatively, unsure whether I would want to know.

'That's perfect!' I exclaimed, smiling. This was just the thing I needed to get daddy out of the town for good.

'Thanks Jug, that's all we needed,' I told him, heading to the door with Archie behind me.

I got back into Archie's car and he went to the driver's side.

'How are you going to go about this Roni? You can't just tell him you know and force him to leave,' he questioned, hesitating before starting the engine.

'I have no idea Archie, I'll figure it out,' I told him.

We got to the Pembrooke and got out of the car, heading inside.

'Daddy?' I called, he wasn't in the front room.

I went into his study, realising he must be in there.

'Hello Mija, what brings you to my study?' He asked, putting his pen down and looking at Archie and I.

'I have some insider information that you are taking over the drug business in Riverdale,' I told him, 'and I am not going to sit back and let you bring this family down with you.'

'Calm down, no one will find out that it is me, so the family won't be brought down,' he said.

'But if someone does find out, which lots of people already have, mom and I will be the ones to suffer, which is why I want you to leave town until you stop dealing drugs,' I demanded, looking him straight in the eyes.

'No, that's crazy, I would never do anything to hurt you or your mother,' I assured.

'Daddy, you have until tomorrow morning to erase every trace of yourself from this house, or else the whole town will know your little secret,' I threatened, turning around and leaving. Archie followed.

We got back outside to the sun setting, after tomorrow I will never have to deal with my hideous father again.

'Mission accomplished!' Camila exclaimed, 'I love how much Veronica hates her father, it's a fun relationship to watch, I wouldn't like to be in it though.'

Everyone agreed.
