It was a long time before Michael came back, and I’d settled down to playing gently with Jake who seemed very happy to have a play mate. We were playing tug of war with a towel when Michael came in. Jake growled and stood in front of me making Michael scowl at him.

“Oh stop it the both of you,” I said laughing as I petted Jake’s head. Michael smiled at me before saying, “I’ve taken the liberty of having supper sent up for us. We’ll stay the night and leave early in the morning.” I sighed in relief and hugged him. A knock on the door revealed our supper.

After we ate I gave Jake my scraps as well as Michael’s before walking over to the bed. Undoing the lacings of my dress I let it fall at my feet before undoing my chemise. When I was completely naked I climbed onto the bed and turned to see Michael staring at me with hunger in his eyes. He slowly walked to me peeling away his clothes as he did so. He was naked as he lay on top of me.

His lips met mine in a passion filled kiss as his hands cupped my breasts. I tugged on his hair and moaned reveling in the fact that I didn’t have to be quiet. When his lips moved to my breasts I couldn’t stop my hips from bucking into him wanting more as a fire filled me. His kisses trailed lower and I grew nervous as he reached my womanly parts.

“Michael?” I spoke softly, questioningly as I looked down at him. “Lay back love. I promise you’ll like it,” he said before his mouth covered me. I threw my head back and buried my hands in the sheets as his mouth did wicked things to me. His finger filled me and I felt myself ready to burst. An expert flick of his tongue had me going over the edge as I shouted his name.

He trailed kisses up my body before he laid beside me. For the rest of that night Michael showed me just how much he loved me as I showed him in return.

We woke early the next morning and headed out after breakfast and checking Jake’s stitches. He rode in the saddle in front of me though he wasn’t thrilled about it. He wanted to play and run, but the stitches wouldn’t allow it. Storm didn’t mind the extra passenger. Michael rode beside me looking eager to get back to the herd.

When we got back James rode up to us. “I thought you were coming back last night?” “We got a little distracted,” Michael said looking at me. James looked at me confused before Jake lifted his head and growled at him.

“May I ask why your wife is carrying a dog?” he said with amusement. “A man in the village was beating it for not working his cattle and my wife stopped him. He tried to hit her with his whip and I bought the mutt from him,” Michael said.

“Just because he doesn’t like you doesn’t make him a mutt,” I glared at him. “Alright you win. You can put him in the wagon for the drive,” he said looking at the herd. “He’d be better off sitting in the saddle with me. The wagon is rough and he’ll open up his stitches,” I said before riding to catch up with the wagon that I see pulling away in the distance.

Jake looked up from the saddle and wagged his tail when he saw the cows before whining. I rubbed his head and cued to him. He looked at me before looking back at the cattle.

When we got to the wagons Cook looked at me before shaking his head and laughing as Jake growled at him. “Have I mentioned that you have your husband wrapped around your finger?” he shouted over the sound of the wagon. “Once or twice,” I shouted back with a smile.
