(Disclaimer: Fictional story ahead.)

She was born with four hands each having a Trishul, chakra, and a conch. Her parents were stunned by seeing the divine child. They prostrated before her and requested to see her original form.

A divine aura rose from the child and a fierce lady with dark skin and garland of the skull appeared. She was Mahakali.

"O Great Himavan, the Lord of Mountains known as Himavan, I myself have born as your daughter to annihilate the childless problem of yours. I am born for a cause and you should never stop me from my goal."

Saying so, Devi Adi Parasakti disappeared. Himavan and his wife, Mena were ecstatic to beget a divine child. They named her "Parvati" or the one born to the mountain.

Rituals were performed by the sages to bless her. The sages were astonished to found lotus imprints on her feet and Trishula imprint on her hand. They understood the greatness of Parvati and bowed before her.

Years passed. Parvati spent her time playing with her sisters Ekaparna, Ganga, and Ekapatala. Since her childhood, Parvati used to cry simply and chant Siva with no reason. When her parents asked for the reason, her face would be blank with confusion.

"Oh dear Parvati, ever since age four, you chant the name of Siva and cry. We all are worried about your condition," said Ganga.

Ganga was the dear sister of Parvati. She decided to solve the problem with her. Ganga with her powers travelled around the world and learnt about Siva. Word "Ganga" means who takes to the path of liberation and Yes! she helped her Parvati for that.

"Dear, I found who is Siva. He-"

"He has a snake around his neck, right Akka?"

"Yes!"

"He is smeared by ashes around his body?"

"Yes!!"

"He has a Trishul in his hand."

"Yes!!!!!. You know about him, darling?"

"I don't know about him much. I don't know how I remember these. I want to know more."

"Lord Siva is the Lord of this creation. He is one of the Trideva. He is always detached from the wordly pleasures. He married Dakshayani, but unfortunately she burnt herself due to circumstances. From that moment, Lord Siva is in deep penance. He has never opened his eyes till now."

Parvati hearing these felt more inclined to Siva. She spent many sleepless nights thinking about only Siva.

One morning, she went to her parents.

"O mother, O father, I decided to clear all my doubts. I am going to Kailash to visit Lord Siva. Please bless me."

"But, dear daughter-"

"But, dear daughter-". Himavan stopped his wife Mena to continue.

"Dear Mena, don't forget our promise to Ma Kali."

Mena agreed with a big heart. They both blessed her. Parvati went into deep forests to reach Kailash.

"Why Lord Siva is controlling my senses? I feel my soul connected to him. Why?" Parvati went on without worrying about her surrounding which was filled with dangers.

Suddenly she heard a growling voice from a bush. A tiger sprang from it suddenly. Parvati was astonished to see a ferocious tiger which was growling in hunger.

Parvati started to chant, "Siva, Siva, Siva". The tiger was about grab her but suddenly a divine figure appeared and attacked the tiger with its weapon.

Parvati saw that the figure seems to be divine God. He had 4 hands, one having Chakra, other having conch, and the weapon through which he attacked the tiger was a mace. He was dark, adorned with gold. He had lotus eyed.

The tiger ran in fear just by an attack.

"Who are you?" asked Parvati.

"I am the devotee of the name, you chanted. I always help those devotees who are immersed in that name."

Saying so, he left Parvati in more confused state. Parvati with determination and hardwork reached the evergreen and snowy divine mountain, Kailash.

She saw the divine Siva meditating. Ganga was right! Lord Siva looked like he was meditating for years. Though he was covered with ashes and blacked eyes, he was the most beautiful person in this world. The crescent moon shone more brightly on his head than in the sky.

Parvati was mesmerized by Lord Siva.

"I decided. I should marry Lord Siva."

Saying so she started doing penance by chanting "Siva".
