After all of her nightmares, Pinkie was terrified. Terrified of herself. When she started to hallucinate, She canceled her appointment with Rainbow Dash to teach her how to make cupcakes, as Dash started appearing in both her dreams and her hallucinations. Pinkie felt herself slipping away. Her friends started worrying about her after she locked herself in Sugarcube Corner for weeks never allowing anypony in. She boarded up her windows, locked her door and closed up the shop. One night, there was an earthquake. An earth shattering, horrible earthquake. It tore down buildings, and millions of ponies were hurt, while hundreds died. It was the biggest earthquake in Equestrian history; it stretched across Equestria and the lands beyond it. A rumor spread that it was created by dark magic. It did seemed like it was created by dark magic; nature never could've created an earthquake that big. After it happened, Fluttershy set out to find and help injured animals. Twilight began investigating where it came from. Applejack was busy helping rebuild her family's home, as it had fallen to pieces. Rarity helped clean up and restore Ponyville, and adding decorations along the way. Rainbow Dash also helped clean up and restore Ponyville. Cloudsdale was the only place that remained unharmed, because it was above ground and could not be affected by the quake. And Pinkie? That was the day she officially went crazy; absolutely, utterly insane. It happened like this:
It was a stormy night. The sky turned as black as night, the moon was no longer visible. Unbeknownst to many, the storm wasn't planned by the pegasi. It wasn't created by the pegasi. No pony knew where it came from. Pinkie was still locked in her home. When the earthquake came, Sugarcube Corner was damaged, but not as much as other buildings. It seemed as if the quake didn't even hit the building. Pinkie stared out her window, through the wooden boards. She watched as buildings got demolished. She heard the screams of the ponies ring out, she watched as they got crushed, killed; but didn't care. She thought it was just another hallucination. She felt nothing but slight rumbles, but she thought it was her mind, tricking her. Pinkie sighed and turned away from the horrifying scene and immediately jumped at the sound of her doorbell. She peaked out her window and saw Surprise at her door. She walked to the door and growled, "What do you want?" Through the mail slot. Surprise replied, "Pinkie! Are you okay? What's going on? Did you use a protection spell? Open the door!" Pinkie snarled and slunk away, falling onto the floor when hallucinations hit. Surprise, confused and terribly worried, broke down the door and burst in. Pinkie growled and started at Surprise with her eyes that barely had any sanity left. Surprise looked worried and shocked. Pinkie's mane and tail had fallen flat. Her ears were pinned against her head, her head down low, her teeth barred.
"Pinkie.... Wha- what happened to you.....?" Surprise stuttered. Pinkie just smiled. Creeping closer to surprise.
"I'm.... Fine. I've always been... Fine.... Absolutely dandy.... All the time.... Because I'm Ponyville's trusted.... Party pony!" Pinkie said, her voice hushed and her eyes wild. "Can't you tell how fine I am? How okay I am with everyone being crushed? Can't you tell...." Pinkie broke off with an unnatural, disturbing laugh. As she crept closer to Surprise, the more Surprise backed away. "Pinkie, I'm worried about you. Deathly worried. We're enemies, I know that. I've been really mean to you about you not having wings. But it was only because we have competing stores, competing bakeries." The terrified Pegasus whispered, tears of fear in her eyes. Pinkie laughed and whispered, "Exactly. I don't have wings. Which is why I'll simply take.... Yours."
