~Seven week time-skip~
Amanda's POV:
Things were getting less and less exciting by the day. There was nowhere to go, with nothing, or no one, to see. My conversations with Liz were also nothing much to talk about, because, there was nothing to talk about! At least it was that way...
*Insert Skype Video Call ringing noise*
"Good morning Liz!" I began, as soon as I pressed the answer button. "How are you doing today?"
"Not good Amanda, not good at all..." She replied, looking flustered.
"Why, what happened? What's going on?" I asked, a rush of concern flowing through my body.
"Haven't you read the news this morning?"
"No, I haven't. I usually don't start my day by reading the news, it weighs me down to much from the get go. Tell me though, what happened?" I re-inquired, hoping my best friend would be understanding of my momentary lack of knowledge.
"Well, everyone in America is now able to pretty much run wild, even with no mask on," she answered, sounding even more depressed than she had before. "You realise what this means, right?"
Frozen with shock, I whispered back, "Wow, that's awful. I can understand why this is making you so upset."
"I know! I'm quite scared for what's to come Amanda, I really am."
"I know you are Liz, I know. I wish that wasn't happening back home, but all you can do right now is just stay safe whether or not anyone else is trying to."
"You're right. It's just really, really heartbreaking to know that people are this stupid to be putting themselves in danger. It's such a wild concept to me," Liz sighed, resting her chin on top of her clenched fist. "Well anyways, what is it like in Toronto?"
I took a breath, and began to give Liz an answer that she would be jealous to hear. "Well..."
