After learning about this I realized that there were other things I hadn't thought about before until now.
The location of our old kingdom is known but we can never return to it because the humans have constant surveillance over the perimeter.
We can build a new Kingdom just off the shore of Alaska now. We will need to make it and have it be protected as long as we live.
I'm not sure what will happen and on top of that I'm a Luna I not only have to worry about this, why couldn't I just have stayed in Hawaii?
None of this would have ever happened. I could have lived my life as a human but no of course not. After thinking about it for hours, I finally went to bed.
Waking up here was weird, when I looked but my window in the morning I was expecting to see the sun and palm tree outside and my colorful garden but no all I saw was snow cover forest. I missed it the warmth of the sun against my freezing skin, the trees all green with life, the water was crystal blue, and the life I was always surrounded by buildings and people. The population in all of Alaska was very small but you could own tons of land. I was used to the city life and here everything was so spread out. I started getting ready putting on a very warm sweater. I wasn't used to the cold climate here yet.
I went downstairs to get breakfast when Dad bumped into me on my way down the stairs. He kissed my forehead and apologized he was always a little disoriented before the second cup of coffee.
I just smiled and hugged him goodbye because I would probably not be able to see either of them before they left for the one month sea experience of Alaska, their job requiring the trainings of staying at sea for hige lemgths of time. I was used to this but it nonetheless made me sad to see them get ready to leave.
My mom and dad study marine life which is how they first met a few years before they had found me. Off the coast of Honolulu they were cleaning up and collecting samples of the deceased fish that had lay around the beach during a brutal hurricane. Before I was found they had a five year old son, but now he's at Harvard studying to be a lawyer. I loved my brother very much, no matter how annoying he was.
The day we both found out I was adopted was heartbreaking for both of us, but it only brought us closer together.
Mom was still in bed seeing as they have never had to leave before 10:30 at the earliest and it was barely 6:17. I had to hurry. Dad had had breakfast and was going back up to bed, "Dad, where are you going? You have to drive me to school."
He looked startled by my loud voice and also tired. "I do? Alright, let me get the keys." That scared me, I thought he was going back to sleep. I wasn't allowed to drive until I turned 18 because my parents were strict. Please god do not let me be late for school.
My parents always tried to shelter me from the badness of the world and I appreciated that greatly. Even if it was a beautiful lie. Now moreso than I had ever thought before.
My dad came back downstairs still as he was, without the keys!
"Dad? What are you doing? I'm going to be late."
He just shook his head, "No, your mom said one of your friends was picking you up." He smiled lightly, he knew I didn't really make friends. "They called here last night and said they would pick you up from now on. Something about carpooling and helping the environment, but even better it saves me gas." He chuckled lifting his cup of coffee to me as I rolled my eyes and grinned. Such a goof.
"Really? They said that," I asked doubtfully. I'm in such a lazy and bad mood right now.
I heard a car honk outside I quickly kiss my dad on the cheek and left. I was surprised when I saw Liam there. Nicole was in the backseat and I smiled gently to her, she had seemed really nice. I got in and Liam kissed my cheek and took my hand before he started driving.
