Chapter 1 - First day

~ James' PoV ~

I hug my parents goodbye, and Mimic, my maine coon, rubs against their legs. "Love you, I'll come home during the holidays!" I say, waving goodbye at my dad in the car.
I try to give my mom a kiss goodbye, but I couldn't cause im kinda 5'4 so my mom gives a kiss on my forehead. "We're gonna miss you, honey, I love you." She says, before walking back to the car.

They drive off, and I see my mom waving goodbye, I chuckle and wave back. Mimic starts to shove me into the building, I chuckle and start walking, and honestly I feel overwhelmed.

So many people! I start to study the room, looking at different people and how they act. A smaller guy with ginger hair is nervous and slouching, opposite to his.... Friends? I assume that's what they are.
A taller girl in red is doing her makeup, confident and no fear.
An outgoing girl in yellow is obsessing over... Something, to her... Friends? Sisters?

I continue to look when....
"Ow!" Mimic makes a yelp and helps me up "I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to I- I-" I try to look for words, but the man I ran into (literally) holds out a hand.

I take it, and go to apologize again but I hear him say "Im Thomas, Thomas Jefferson. And these are the dweebs I call my friends"
"Thomas shut up!"
"Eat a di-"
"Language- oh! James I didn't know you'd be here!" Aaron says

I sigh with relief, someone I know!
"Hey Aaron!" Thomas looks at me, then goes back to speaking
"Well, I'm Thomas, like i said, That's Alex, John, Hercules and Lafayette."
I wave awkwardly at them, and I stand inbetween Thomas and Aaron.

I tune out everyone and study their animals.Thomas has a Lion, guessing from the way he made me his friend he's extroverted, prideful and the leader.

John has a parrot, he's probably loud, fast, and bold.
Alex has a fox, maybe sneaky, smart and fun? Or is he quick, loud, and defending?
I'll find out later I guess...
Hercules has a bear, so maybe loud, tough and swee-

"JAMES!" John yells, and I jump and squeal, his parrot repeating what he said. Mimic starts hissing, but I start to pet her
"Y-yes?" I ask, turning red as John snaps his fingers infront of me
Jefferson shoots him a glare
"Do you want to go get our dorm numbers?" John repeats
I nod and we start to walk to the office, a lady at the front counter is working on the computer.

"Hello, we'd like to get our dorm numbers, please" Thomas asks, the lady nods, one by one we tell her our names and she hands us a slip of paper with a number on it.

We all walk outside, I look at my room number
628
"Anyone else have 628?" I ask, Aaron and John raise their hands.
"How about 177?" Alex raises his hand, jokingly annoyed
"Shut up Alex atleast we aren't strangers" Thomas chuckles a little.
"Ugh, I have a room with hercules" Lafayette says "I hoped for Thomas." Herc ruffles Lafayette's hair and they both chuckle.

I hope everything goes ok.

I kept glancing at the new member of our crew, he seems kinda cute, but I swore to my soulmate that I'd never date untill I met them. Sally was a disaster breakup, she tried to say we were still dating...
