"Hey " someone calls behind me grabbing my attention, but I don't turn around or stop. "Stephanie." A masculine voice booms ringing in my ears.
I stop in my tracks and turn around.
"Stef." Allen repeats walking my way. "hey, how was your summer." he says mocking Joy.
"Shut up Allen " I smirk walking up to him until were face to face. He pulls me into an awkward hug.
" You smell good." Allen says sniffing me.
"Nice to know." I wonder if he knows how creaped out I am. "So "
"So, you going to the back to school bash?"
"I don't know, why?" I have a feeling I know what's coming.
"You wanna meet there?"
I knew it ,let's see how I can put it-play dumb? Sounds good to me. Oh yea he's in front of me. "Yea I'll see you,Joy, and everyone else at the bash."
"Oh yea."he drops his head." Guess I'll see you there." He turns to walk away.
"Wait!" crap "Pick me up at seven."
He turns around and wraps his arms around me. "See you then."
he whispers in my ear sending a shiver through my spine.
"Yea." I say breathless. "See you then."
He lets me go and walks away as if he could care less, that this was an every day thing. He left me alone and confused. What was that? Why do I feel this way? What do I feel?
I thought about this for the rest of the day. When I got home I went to bed --- and my thoughts followed me in my dreams.
Bang Bang Bang, was the noise that jolted me out of my slumber.
"Come in." I manage, being startled to death isn't something I personally like.
"Sorry Stef." a voice giggles. "you stormed out of school ,and you didn't notice me in first, or second,or sixth."
I look up to see my best friend Joya standing above me. "Oh yea about that."I say sitting up. "Allen asked me to the back to school bash."
Her once there smile quickly fades. "He what! tell me you said no, Ally would die if she found out."
I look at her trying my best not to look guilty.
"Stef! tell me you didn't."
"I can't." Crap I knew this wouldn't end well.

"Stef you can't just act like this is okay." Joya rants on. "I mean this is Allen -- and Ally."
"You say it as if they were ever something." I try.
"They were something Steff."
"When second grade?" I huff. "I don't even like him, why would I?"
Honestly why would I I've known him all my life he's more like a brother to me than anything else, and my actual brother being Chris that's not exactly a good thing.
"Well if you don't like him than why on earth would you say yes!" her tone has gone from why would you ever, to what the hell is wrong with you.
"Cause he's been having a bad time since... well you know."
