Before we get into it real quick, I would like to say a very warm welcome and I am so thankful that you are here reading this story. I really really hope that you like this version better than the original. This is about an hour late, and I apologize dearly for that. I was just very very busy today. I will be getting the first official chapter out tomorrow night I promise. And with that, please enjoy this chapter. I hope you get a kick out of the off to the side edits of mine lmao

My eyes fluttered open unwillingly as the sun peered through the closed curtains and into the messy, All Might decorated room. I groaned and rolled over, pulling the covers over my head in the process and trying to get back to sleep. After about five minutes of laying awake inside my thoughts, I gave up and flung the covers off my warm body. I cringed at the sudden coldness that had bellowed over me.

"Shouto?" I called out to the empty room. I remember him spending the night here. A flashback of curling into his arms and drifting off the night before for what felt like the thousandth time swept by my memories. I heard no response. No movement. I felt worry start to settle over my shoulders, but I brushed it off. He was probably just up before me, but that didn't give much explanation to the pure lack of noise. We had been together for nearly a year by now, and he spent most of his time at my house or in my room back at the dorms. Looking over to my nightstand, I checked the time on the alarm clock that I hadn't set an alarm for since school was out for the summer. I found it to still be rather early. So why was he gone? He usually slept in with me until about ten or so.

'8:37.' The small, glowing red numbers had burned countless restless nights into my memories. I sighed and swung my legs over the side of the bed. Yawning, I laid back with my legs still hanging over the edge. It was pretty uncomfortable, but it was tolerable enough. Holy fudge cake was I tired. Why? I honestly didn't know.

"Babe?" I called, using a different name in hopes of getting a reaction out of the taller male so that I would at least know of his presence. Still not a single thing. I sighed once more, finally getting up. I stretched my legs and arms once my feet touched the soft mat that lay beside my bed. I stood there for a second just kind of dazed. I focused rather harshly on the small hairs of the mat between my toes. I wiggled my toes, and silently dwelled in the softness. I finally snapped out of my tired, trance-like state and yawned again, habitually covering my mouth. Rubbing my eyes, I picked my phone up from next to where the alarm clock sat and yanked the charger out causing the screen to light up. "Huh?" I quietly questioned to myself.

7:13 - Sorry for leaving so quickly, but go to the cafe you gave me your number at.

I studied the text with a confused look taking over my features. Bear's Cafe? I slowly nodded and set my phone back down on my nightstand. "Okay?" I said to myself. I walked away from my phone and staggered into the bathroom to take a shower.

I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my waist as I ran an olive colored hand through my wet hair. Walking over to the mirror, I brushed my teeth and ran a blow dryer over my hair. I looked over at Shouto's comb on the counter, but I eventually decided against it. It wasn't like it was going to make much of a difference, so instead I ran a hand through my hair until it was all as dry as I felt it needed to be. I looked over my features and made sure I looked even somewhat presentable before finally initiating an exit out of the small bathroom and walking back into my room to change into some clothes for the day. I looked around in my closet and drawers to find something decent, in which I finally settled on some white overalls with a dark green sweater underneath it, some white socks, and a pair of dark green, low top, converse to match the sweater. Finishing off my outfit with some round glasses and a couple rings, I picked up my phone that sat off to the side and stuffed it into my back pocket before finally starting the short walk to the snug cafe.
