"Don't be an idiot," Vero chanced putting her hand on Lauren's chest to hold her back. "They could kill you in a split second."

"I do so adore a challenge." Lauren sneered at the witch before shoving her hand aside and starting her approach towards the two smiling creatures. "To what do we owe the pleasure?" She called out mockingly.

"Lauren," Lucy stepped in front of her cousin this time and stood firm. "Your objective is to protect that whom you love, is it not? She is currently in danger the closer you step towards those beasts. This is not a fight we can win and demons are not known for their mercy."

"We've come for the girl," One of the demons called out, her tone raspy with a distinctive hiss in her words. "Do not waste our time with resistance, your wall is as sturdy as a sheet of paper." The pair came to a stop and Lucy turned to find their eyes settling on Camila. "Besides, it is only right for a daughter to know their mother."

"Tell Lilith that if she wants me, she should come herself." Camila made a point to ready herself for anything.

"We know not to engage in combat with you," The male demon spoke with boredom. "But we have been sent to retrieve you through any means necessary," He stretched his hand out towards the group and within a second, Vero was pulled to his side against her will. "Your tethered remains with us until you bring yourself to us willingly."

Lucy's instinctual reflex was so to rush to Vero but with a flick of Camila's hand, the brunette vampire was sent into the side of the nearest building, halting her efforts to attempt to save the woman she loved.

Everything in Camila screamed to hurtle herself towards Vero as well but she saw the intent in the demons' eyes, they would kill the witch in a heartbeat unless she complied.

"They'll never allow me to leave with you." Camila gestured towards Lauren and Lucy, watching as the demons' hollow eyes took in the two vampires. "And if you hurt them, I will make a personal vendetta to destroy Hell in its entirety." She spoke with enough collection that she knew she'd made not only a promise to them, but also to herself. If Lauren were to die at the hands of any creatures of Hell, she'd eviscerate the place itself.

One of the demons flicked their fingers and raised a brow at Camila in challenge.

"Camila?" Lauren's voice was frantic as she spoke the name and the angel hybrid looked to her love but Lauren's eyes were searching in panic; for what, Camila was unsure.

"She cannot see you." The demon with the bored voice sighed.

"Let her go." Camila eyed Vero as she made her way over towards the demons. "I'm all yours."

The female of the pair eyed her skeptically, her eyes similar to that of a snake ready to strike. She shoved Vero towards Camila and the witch cautiously made her way over to the woman she found herself connected to.

"You can't go with them," Vero reminded Camila as Lauren's angry growls echoed around them. "You can't be in your mother's presence. Camila meets Lilith and that's it for all the good in the world, remember?"

"I never said I'd meet my mother." Camila kept her eyes locked to the demons.

And an understanding passed between the witch and the hybrid creature, because the setting around them changed to a meadow as Vero worked to veil them from the world around them. Allowing Camila the chance to do as she wished without fear of exposure.

The female of the demons went to raise her hand to retrieve Vero once more but Camila was more prepared as she felt a weight leave her body, everything inside her feeling liberated as she watched dark smoke slip through the lips of the demon, a fire-like glow resonating in the back of her throat as she choked on the darkness Camila had unleashed upon her.
