YOU'RE SENDING HER WHERE????!!

{:} BESS'S POV {:}

Jace comes at me swinging left and right with his blade. I dodge all of his attacks and use my leg to swipe under his feet, causing him to fall flat on his butt. 

" You're distracted J" I say worriedly. I reach my hand out to help him up but he rejects it, using his hands to push himself back onto his feet.

"How are you so focused?" He asked, not locking eyes with me. I walk towards him and place both hands on his shoulders.

"Its ok to miss her J, I know I do." I say hugging him. We we're raised not feel anything, taught that romances and love could interfere with work.  For me, I had never been in love, but Jace had. It has been almost 3 week since Clary lost her memories and Jace was not handling it well.  He began to sob onto my shoulder and sink to the floor. I fell with him, comforting my brother was the only emotional thing I could do right. " J look at me," I say using two fingers to push his chin up to lock eyes with me, " Stop blaming yourself, Clary made her choices, she would want you to move on with your life." I say at a whisper. 

"How?" He says, more tears threatening to spill.

"That I can't help you with J" I say forcing him to stand. Just then I hear a voice over the loudspeaker. 

" ELIZABETH HERONDALE COME TO THE MAIN FLOOR"  the voice says. I give my brother one more quick hug before turning and walking towards the main floor. I walk in to see that Isabelle, Alec, and Simon are waiting for me at one of the tables.

"How many times have I said not to call me Elizabeth?" I say, slightly annoyed. Isabelle just rolled her eyes and walked up to me, Alec and Simon following her. 

"Bess, you have a new mission." Izzy said, walking past me and towards the main computer. "Its an undercover so you will have to cover up your runes and use Wayland as your last name." She contiues pressing some keys on the keyboard. I nod as a map pops up and it zooms all the way to a little town in California called Beacon Hills. Just then, Jace walked in and looked at the screen.

"YOU'RE SENDING HER WHERE??!!" He yelled towards the trio, stomping over to Izzy. "You cannot send our little sister to the middle of nowhere on the OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY!!" he contiues.

"Jace, I don't have a choice, its a order straght from the Clave besides, do you think I would send my parabatai into direct danger" Izzy says, while Simon steps protectivly in front of her.  She slides around Simon, who gives a confused look. "Besides, its her choice" She contiued, looking at me. Everyone then turned to face me waiting for my response. 

" I'll do it, I have to get out of the city" I say looking at Jace, who has a understanding look on his face and nods. 

"Then its settled, suit up and pack, you are portalling at 8am tommorrow" Izzy says looking at Jace then at me. Everyone nods and begins to walk away, Izzy grabs my hands and drags me to the side of the room for privacy. " Are you sure about this, you'll be on the otherside of the country with no backup" She says grabbing my other hand and staring me clear in the eyes with a worried look on her face.

"Izzy, I'll be fine and besides, I'll bring a seelie ring so we can stay in touch and you guys can portal there if I have any issues" I say, letting go of one of her hands and sticking my pinkie out and raising it up to be directly in front of her face. "Parabatai" I say.

"Parabatai" She returns, wrapping her pinkie around mine and shaking our hands, which is followed by a round of giggles. She pulls me into a tight hug before walking back to her table with the others. I walked back to my room and began to pack, tommorrow is gonna be interesting.
