Wild Wolf and the Runaway

Chapter 1

Atlas Weiss's POV:

I sat on my bed bandaging my bruises from my father wincing from the pain. "I can't take this anymore..." I thought as I starred at my reflection.

"Mirror...tell me something..."
Mirror tell me... who's the loneliest of all...?" I sang as I starred into the mirror tears filling my eyes.
I was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Come in..." I muttered Klein walked in holding a coffee mug. "Mrs. Schnee I brought you some coffee," Klein said a small smile forming on his lips. I take the mug from him blowing on the hot liquid I take a small sip feeling a bit better as the warmth filled my body. Klein bows walking out of the room, I stare out the window watching passing airships. "I have to get out of here...If I don't he'll kill me with his goddamn beatings..." I thought clutching the mug tightly.

I packed a small backpack with cloths and my toothbrush and, a family photo. I put on my belt picking up mytenaster strapping it to my back. I open my window hesitating slightly. I look back at my cold bland room "I'm sorry winter... Klein...mother.....whitly..." I thought a few small tears filling my eyes.
I used my glyphs to make my way out of the window. Alarms began blaring I panic as I sprint towards the tundra. I make it into the cold tundra I shiver as I wrap myself in the cloak I brought. A storm rolled in causing my vision to suffer. I began to shiver more violently "d...damn...so...cold..." I thought as I shiver. My legs begin to hurt "I...can't go on..." My mind thinks tiredly as I fall to my knees. I sit there for a moment before I begin to hear growling. I frantically look around noticing red glowing eyes approaching me. "No..." I feel fear and panic overwhelm me the beowolves approach me growling and licking there lips. I jump to my feet running as far as I could before coming to a riven. I was about to run in a different direction only to find the Grimm surrounding me. The alpha Grimm pounces towards me I close my eyes ready for death. I hear growling and struggling but, I don't feel any impact on me. After I don't hear anything I slowly open my eyes seeing the Grimm dead and already evaporated. I see another wolf it was mainly black with red paws and muzzle with her tail having a red tip. It turned to me it had piecing silver eyes. I attempt to run away only to trip on a rock. I feel my ankle twist "gahhh damnit!" I scream holding my ankle that is already swelling. The wolf cautiously walking towards me. I quickly grab a small stone throwing it at the wolf "STAY AWAY!!" I shout. The wolf dodges the rock starring back at me. The wolf walks over to my leg it sniffs my leg before begining to lick it. "The hell is wrong with this thing...?" I wonder watching the wolf walk a bit closer. It sticks it's muzzle in my face sniffing me. Anger and fear rise in me "well... aren't you going to eat me!?" I yell at it. It cocks it's head to the side in confusion it's ear twitching slightly. I was shocked when the wolf began to glow and morph into something else. It transformed into a girl she knelt down next to me "why would I eat you?" She asked a small smile forming on her lips. I stare at her in disbelief "what...what the fuck are you?!" I shout. The girl smiles I'm the one who's gonna save you c'mon I don't bite," she said standing up. She picks me up I try to struggle out of her grasp but, she wouldn't budge. "Don't worry I'm not gonna hurt you I'm gonna get you patched up," she says walking out of the storm. We traveled in silence for a few moments before I began to ask questions "so...what are you exactly...I mean you have all the wolf traits...so you aren't a faunus...so what are you?" I asked sheepishly afraid I might anger her. I see her smile "I'm a rare speisies...I'm a werewolf there aren't many of us left...I live in a small pack with my father, my sister, and her girlfriend who is a faunus," she chirped her tail wagging slightly. "Um...what's your name?" I asked looking at her face. "Ruby...Ruby rose...my turn to ask a question what's your name?" She asked looking back at me. I hesitate at first "Weiss...Weiss schnee..." I mumbled. She goes silent I notice her expression darken "you're a...schnee...?" She asked her voice suddenly dark. I nod to afraid to speak. "Your family is responsible for my races near extinction..." She muttered her ears flatting against her head. I feel my eyes widen as guilt fills my heart "I...I'm sorry...I didn't know...I-" she cut me off. "It's ok...you didn't do anything...your bastard father did..." She spat harshly when she spoke of my father. I sigh "I can agree that bastard is the reason I ran and ended up here..." I mumble my grip on her shoulders tightining. I grow a bit curious "did...my grandfather do anything to your people...?" I asked a bit worried I upset her. "No, your grandfather actually helped my people he provided us with protection and dust we owe him alot," she said as we began to approach a forest. We walk through the forest seeing less and less snow. We began to approach a camp "wow..." Was all I could say as I starred at the small settlement. We walk to the gate where two werewolf guard stand guard. They notice Ruby and I they surprisingly bow to Ruby "welcome back alpha," they bow opening the gates. We walk into the gates I see other werewolves shopping in the small market they had and, other just doing normal village things. They all stare at us more particularly me. I hear them whispering "is that a human...?" One whispered. "Wow a human those are rare in these parts..." Another whispered. "She looks injured..." Two whispered to each other. "Shes with the alpha..." Another whispered. "Huh...so Ruby is the alpha..." I thought starring back at her. She took me to a tent with a sign that said medic.
"Isuki we need your help!" She yelled catching the attention of a blond wolf with green eyes. "Welcome Ruby did you sprain you hand again while training?" He asked sarcastically. Ruby smirked rolling her eyes "hardy har har no I found this girl in the tundra she was surrounded by Grimm she sprained her ankle can you help her?" She asked placing me gently on a table. He smiles "hey there I'm isuki don't worry I don't bite," he said with a small chuckle dabbing some ointment on my swollen ankle. I wince a little as he wraps bandages around my ankle. Ruby stood near by with her arms crossed studying my expression. "There done...now you'll need to stay in bed for about a week," he said washing his hands. "What...but I have no where to stay..." I said looking down. "You can stay here we'll keep you safe," Ruby said standing Infront of me with a big grin. I stare at her for a moment feeling my heart beat quicken slightly. "Ok...I don't really have a choice..." I whispered looking away trying to calm my heart worried she could hear it. She picks me up walking us out of isuki's tent she takes me to the biggest building in the camp.
"This must be there town hall..." I thought as we walked inside.
In the center of the large main hall stood a rather tall blond man with dark blue eyes and werewolf features. "Dad we have a guest!" She yells catching the man who appears to be her father turns his head away from a tall man with black hair and red eyes.
"Oh hello there I'm taiyang call me Tai," he said with a friendly smile. Ruby puts me down hand me the crutches isuki gave me. "N...nice to m...meet you sir I'm Weiss schnee," I squeak a bit worried he wouldn't like me because I'm a schnee. He keeps his smile "nice to meet you Weiss don't worry we welcome all races here human, faunus anyone," he say with a large Grin. "He dad have you seen my scr-" a blond girl who looks a lot like Tai walks in followed by a Raven haired girl with cat ears. "Um who's she?" The blond asked her wolf ears twitching in confusion pointing at me. "Hey yang this is Weiss she'll be staying with us for awhile," she said glancing at me. The blond who I guess her name was yang starred at me with suspicion in her eyes. The faunus girl walked towards me with a kind smile "nice to meet you Weiss I'm Blake and that's my girlfriend yang don't worry she'll warm up to you," she said with a smug smile. "Hey I'm cool with her...back me up sis," yang yelled looking to Ruby. "They're sisters...huh..." I thought a flash of winter ran through my mind. "Well Weiss I'll show you to your room," Ruby said catching my attention.

Ruby opened the door leading me into a guest room. She grabbed a pillow and a blanket walking over to me. "Here you go you'll need in it does get cold at night," she said with a big grin. "Oh you need cloths I'll be right back," she said bursting into a flurry of red disappearing out of the room leaving some rose petals behind. "Huh so that's her semblance..." I thought sitting on the bed still taking everything in. "I wonder what winter is doing...and mother... whitly...father...wait why would I care what father thinks...fuck him..." I thought bitterly noticing a small white fox plush with blue button eyes and a small scar. I picked up the plush holding it to my chest.
Ruby came back in holding some cloths I blush noticing her smirk at me holding the plush. "You like foxes?" She asked placing the cloths on top of the dresser. "Yeah I had a pet fox her name was snow but....my father got drunk and......" I looked down at the plush feeling warm tears fill my eyes. I feel a hand on my shoulder I look into Ruby's silver eyes they're filled with sympathy.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that...your father sounds terrible..." She muttered. I noticed her looking at my scar I look away hiding my face and my scar. I place my hand on my scar to hid it I felt her grab my hand tenderly I looked at her once again.
"You don't have to hide your scars everyone has them I am no exceptions......you are safe here everyone is welcome...we are a peaceful people we just want to live in peace," she muttered with a small smile. "Not many people know of our existence my people and two nearby small packs are...the last of the werewolves...my people are hunted for sport...but we're safe here," she said looking down slightly still with a small smile on her face. "Well I should leave you to unpack...call if you need anything bathroom is down the hall to the right don't be afraid to ask if you need anything I'm across the hall," she said smiling. "Call if you need anything princess," she said winking leaving the room. I felt my cheeks heat up as I thought of what she called me.
"Princess.... princess....she called me...princess...why is my heart beating so fast...?" I wondered as I clutched my heart. I walk over to the window I see Ruby and yang training in hand to hand while that Blake girl watched reading a book. I stare at Ruby as she runs her fingers through her hair.
     

       "I think I'm gonna like it here...."
