Alessia's POV:

I was back to my routine, which Kelly likes to call boring. She's been bugging me to go out on a date but I've been trying to save up to treat my mother to a fancy restaurant and a spa massage.
            It's been a week since she told me about James Thompson and I love how her voice sounds more cheerful when she talks about him and I would love to hear more about him.
Mom always loved dining outside and I'd be more than happy to treat her to one, I also know that she's over working because I can't miss how tired she sounds through the phone.

"Alessia, take a break!" Kelly groans. "It's a Saturday for the love of God!"

"I need to save up if I'm going to take her out next week," I repeat in a monotone voice.

"I'll loan you some money, you just need to ask." Her tone becomes soft and I smile at her.

"I know, it's just that, I want to do this for her, you know?"

"Yeah, I get it. Jane will be proud." She grins.

"So, will you let me get back to my work?" I ask her.

"By all means," She laughs and walks to the library to read a book.

I'm about to go to the back to bake another batch of cupcakes when my phone rings. I take it from my pocket to see that it's an unknown number, "Hello?"

"Good Afternoon, am I speaking to Miss Alessia Carter?" A feminine voice
inquires.

"Yes, speaking. May I know who this is?" I lean back at the counter.

"This is Lucy Hart from Jared Incorporations." She speaks.

Jared Incorporations! This was one of the companies I had applied in.

"This is regarding the interview you attended regarding a job. Is this a good time to speak?"

"Just give me a second, Miss Hart." I walk to the back and see Jet, a co-barista at the back.

"Phone Call. Urgent." I mouth to him and push my thumb backwards to the front.

Jared whistles and nods his head making her black hair bounce off his forehead, "Got it."

"Yes? Please tell me." I brace myself for the news.

"I'm pleased to tell you that you have got a position in Jared Incorporations."

Internally, I'm dancing. Yes!

"Thank you so much!" I gush out.

"If you could come down to the company building any time next week, I would be happy to run you through the posts and all necessary details."

"Of course," I nod my head.

"If you would like to take the job after we run you through everything, you can let us know then." She finishes and I grin.

"Okay, I got it. I'll let you know when I can come." I say. "Thank you."

"I hope you have a nice weekend Miss Carter. I hope to hear from you soon. Goodbye." She cuts the call and I let out a squeal.

I skip down to the front and I see Jet looking at me with wonder, "Heard the squeal. Wassup?"

"I got a call back!! I might get a job!" I laugh happily.

Jet breaks out into a grin, "Congratulations Alessia!"

I smile at him and let out a shriek as he pulls me into a hug- although, Jet was still in college, studying History, he was a lot taller than me.
