- Mila POV -

Music has always been a big passion of mine. However, I do not posses any musical ability. So when I am singing along to one of my favorite songs, people always cover their ears and when I notice this I stop singing immediately. This is why I only sing along with songs when I know that my roommates are not home and when I am in the shower. One of my roommates does have to ability to sing amazingly, but she would never try to make a career out of it. I always tell Evi that she has to upload a cover on Youtube and see if she will be discovered. Because if she does I want to be her manager. This way I can pursue my passion for music and help Evi have an amazing career. She won't do it, she tells me, because she doesn't want to get criticism from people on the internet. Ofcourse I understand, since criticism is the only thing I receive when I am singing because I am so bad. But I always laugh it off. When Evi is showering I always listen a little longer at the door than most people do when their friend is showering. It might come of as creepy, but no one has noticed it and Evi knows that I like to hear her sing, so she probably wouldn't be shocked to know that I listen to her singing when she is showering.

The house has been crowded a lot lately, since no one has a lot of places to go because of the Covid-19 virus. All of my lectures are online and it is the same for most of my housemates as well. The only times I go out of the house are when I have to get groceries or when I am meeting with friends or family (all at the recommended distance ofcourse). Luckily the virus-crisis is getting less hectic and a vaccine is close to being succesful. Today I am meeting with friends at a park nearby. I am getting up at 11 am, because why not. We agreed to be in the park at 2 pm, so I have enough time to get ready and get to the park. When I walk down the two stairs to get breakfast, because I live in the attic room of this house full of students and I do not have a kitchen in my room, I notice that all doors of my roommates rooms are closed. This usually means that they are not home, because when we are home we have are doors opened. I stop at Evi's bedroomdoor and knock. "Evi, are you there?", I ask. There is no sound coming from the room, which I take as an answer. I send a text message in our house groupchat Is anyone home?. All girls reply almost immediately, one is at work, two are at their boyfriends and one is out with friends. Evi is the only one that doesn't reply to the message, but I already knew that she is not home. This means I have the house to myself. I get excited and put on my music immediately. This is the first time in like three weeks that I can sing aloud again, so I am grasping at this opportunity. The first song in my playlist is Strip That Down by Liam Payne and Quavo.

"You know, I love it, when the music's loud
But c'mon, strip that down for me, baby
Now there's a lot of people in the crowd
But only you can dance with me
So put your hands on my body
And swing that round for me, baby"

While I am putting my bagel in the toaster, I am singing and dancing along to the lyrics and the beat. I keep singing along until I have to eat the bagel and drink my morning coffee. When I'm finished eating my breakfast I dance around in the house for a bit. Then I walk back to my room, but I keep singing very loud. This continues until I hear the front door being opened. I shut down my music immediately and shout hello down the stairs.
"Hi Mila", I hear Evi scream back up the stairs. I hear her walking up the stairs.
"Hey how are you", I say when she walks into my room. I sit on my bed and gesture for her to sit down as well.
"I am fine, how are you? I could hear you singing down the street", she says grinning while she sits down opposite to me.
"Oh no are you serious", I say while covering my face with my hands.
She laughs, "No I am just kidding, but I could hear you singing before I opened the front door. Which song where you singing to?", she asks. I look down at my phone and show her the song. It's Steal My Girl by One Direction.
She smiles "Oeh I like One Direction, but you know there is another amazing band. They make music that is similar to theirs. It's called 5 Seconds of Summer. Do you know them?".
"I have heard of them, but I wouldn't know a song of theirs", I say.
"That's okay, but you should listen to them sometime. I think you would like it!"
"Okay, I will" I look down at my phone again and notice that it is already 1:30 pm. "Shit I have to hurry, I have agreed to meet up with a couple of friends at 2 pm" I say apologizing to Evi. I still have to do my make up and it is a 10 minute bikeride to the park.
"Have fun!" Evi says while walking downstairs to her room.
"Thank you" I shout back while applying my mascara.
