"Hey Sky". I hear the soft voice of Rose as she takes a seat beside me.

I look at her and smile.

"Hey." I reply.

"It's 6 already babe. You've been sitting her for an hour. Let's go." She says before perching both of her elbows on the seat above and resting her weight on them.

I sit silent. I quietly stare at the stars which are beginning to shine as the sun sets.

I hear her slightly sigh.

I smile a little to myself very well knowing the question she is going to ask.

"It's been 2 years Sky. Why do you still come on to these bleachers and stare at the sky?"

There it is.

I shrug before saying " It's the only way I feel connected to him Rose. There are many places we left our memories. But..." my voice trails away without my notice as another distant memory makes it's way to me. I stare harder at the sky as a small smile almost curves my mouth.

"But...?" Rose's voice jostles me out.

"But this place is special. This seat is special. This sunset is special." I reply as I swing my backpack over my shoulder ready to get up.

Taking it as a cue, she picks her things up and says " I was really expecting a different answer at least but you gave me the same special bullshit."

She rolls her eyes and stands up.

"I'd be surprise myself if I gave you any other answer because that's the truth". I saw as we get down the bleachers and make our way towards her car.

She unlocks it as we near and stops at the back door to load all her running gear and her backpack in the back seat.

" Put it in the backseat ." She says referring to my backpack.

"It's cool. I'll just place it on my lap. Where's May?" I ask her before getting into the shotgun and placing my bag on my lap and closing the door.

"She went home early today. Said she's working on some piece of art." She replies as she gets into the driver's seat and turns on the ignition.

"Damn. Leave it to May to work even harder after getting accepted to NYU." I chuckle.

Rose pulls out of the parking lot of the school and drives in the direction of my home.

" Yeah. Bitch is just so passionate. It's almost the end of high school Sky. In 6 months, we'll graduate. You need to stop calling her May and call her with her actual name Amaya cause Amaya and May are two different names."

She stops before continuing "Your nickname game is weak."

I flip her off and connect my phone to the AUX cable to blast some Lana Del Rey.

Rose and I share the same immense love for Lana. I either feel as if I'm prancing through the tulip, sunflower fields in a small town in France or just going through a toxic relationship. There's no in-between in her songs.

Not really giving a big thought about which vibe we are carrying right now, we belt out the lyrics of her songs as she drives.

"Turn up the volume." She yells at me over the already loud volume.

I chuckle and snap my fingers before saying " You got it."

We sang one then two and then I just lost track of the number of songs.

I didn't realize how breathless I was until she stops at my home.

We sing the last few lyrics of a song before pausing and I open the door to get out pulling out my phone connected to the cable in the process.
