"Blake, I said no."

"But mom! Kady's parents are letting her go!"

"Am I kady's parents?"

"No but--"

"Blake," she sighed and looked at me from geting ready for work, I gave her my best puppy dog eyes, "go ask your father." She sighed again, in defeat.  "Yes! Thanks mom! I love you sooo much!" I kissed her on the cheek before making my way to the steps and barreling down them like I was on fire. As I made my way down my steps and into the living room where my dad ought to be, I started thinking what I was going to say. Maybe something on the lines of 'daddy how much do you love me?,' nah to desperate. Or maybe i could just come right out and ask him. Before I knew it I was standing in front of my father and giving him the  best innocent face ever when he sighed and muted the television.

"What is it, Blake?" he said looking at me with a bored expression.                                                          "How much do you love me, daddy?" i gave him my puppy dog eyes, knowing it's his weakness.               "Why? How much abusing is my wallet going to take?" Hesighed, already giving in some.                                                                                                                                                           "WelI..."  Itrailedoff."Idon'tknow."                                                                                                                 "Blake, just tell me."    I sat on the side of the arm rest and hooked my arms around his neck, for a sideways awkward hug, as I talked.

"Okay, kady and i got accepted into this university. It gives us more classes for the course her and I are trying to master. We've already found a place to live and we kinda already paid for the rent for the first semester. Now all I have to get is your permission. Kady already got her parents permission. Please dad, you know I have been trying to improve my studies. Pleeeasseee!" I rushed out before he could interrupt my sentence. He gave me a look, before giving a deep sigh.

"Here's the deal, I'll make with you. You call when you get there," I nodded. "You call or text after your classes," I nodded, a grin breaking out on my face, "No drugs, no drinking, no parties, got it?" I nodded. I already know two of those 'no' rules are getting broken. Kady and I are party animals.

"THANKS! Dad i love you soooo much!" I kissed him on the cheek.

"Now I'll set up a credit card for you. When do you leave?"

I looked down, knowing this was the most crucial part of the whole conversation. "Tonightat8." I mumbled, incoherently.

"When?" He asked, confusion written all over his wrinkly skin.

"Tonight at 8." I said again. I was looking at my feet, scuffing up the rug.

He sighed before saying the one thing that caught me off guard, "Well then you better get packing," he looked at his watch, "you only have 3 hours to get all your things packed." He said that with a smile that he rarely gives out.

"Thanks," I called over my shoulder, already heading to my room to call my best friend since diapers, to tell her the good news.

"Hey kady..."I mumbled into the receiver.

"What did they say?!"She all but yelled.

I winced from how loud she was, "Well.. I suggest you start getting ready! We are going to BOSTON!" I said my voice rising towards the end.

"OH MY GOSH! I'm so pumped. We are going to have so much fun. Drinking, partying, everything. Wait we have to get pencils on the way and..." I tuned her rambling out. I started to pack my camo suitcase.

I am defiantly a tomboy. I thought to myself. I smiled, I'm going to Boston! How psyched am i?! When i tuned back into my best friend this is what I heard, "Blake! Are you listening to me? Did you tell your parents about the living arrangements?"

I jerked my hand to a stop, from putting in a shirt to my suitcase, "Noo, i told them i already figured out the living arrangements. I told them i found an apartment with you.  They wont let me go if they know I'm not staying with you." As I resumed packing my things.

"Yeah, same here. I told my parents the same thing." She said.

"Kady, I'm gonna go. If I want to get all this packing done in less than 3 hours. I'll have to focus." I said in a semi-guilty voice.

"No I understand. Same here, i only have one bag packed and that's my guitar stuff," She chucked.

Kady and I were in a band once. She plays the bass and sings, while I play a lot of instruments and sing, mostly sing though.

"Okay, bye catty." Smirking knowing she absolutely hates being called that.

"Don't call me that! Bye, blakey poo!" She quickly hung up, knowing I hate that nickname she gave me in 3rd grade. I sighed deeply, thinking that I'll be gone and out of the clutches of my overprotective mom and my could-careless father. I groaned, I only have 2 and a half hours to get all my bags packed, and out the door. Out of this town. Out of this house. Out of safety, as I would come to learn later down the road.
