TW: vent poetry

Intact. A common concept, not that of hope or despair, but of nonchalance. Not flatlining, not a thundering heart, but one that beats at a decent pace, not too fast or slow. I dropped a glass in the sink earlier and was terrified of its shards, the sharp remnants of that which was once whole, but it laid there in one piece, intact. I hope I'm intact― or that at least there's glue nearby, an adhesive to create the illusion of it. Fit the seams together and pray no shards have gone missing. Pray that the pieces are intact.
