I awoke to Jaime shaking my body slightly, muttering soft nothings into my ear attempting to wake me.
"Brenna, baby please....wake up it's Christmas!" Jaime said enthusiastically, continuing to shake me. I mumbled something as my eyes fluttered open.
"How are you already awake... and dressed.." I slurred some excess droll slipping from my mouth and rolling down my chin. He chuckled softly and rubbed the slobber away from my chin pressing his lips against my fore head.
"Now. Common." He mumbled pulling me upward, dressing me in my clothes.

----

We gathered around his parent's living room, Jaime's parents sat on the side chairs with Jaime and I curled up in each others embrace, cuddling on the love seat.
"Alright...lets open some gifts!" Jaime's mother exclaimed clapping her hands together a huge smile spreading across her face. I giggled softly pushing my body upwards and pulling a small gift from my purse, handing it to Jaime's mother.
"Well, this is for you two.. from me I guess..." I said a slight blush of embarrassment pinching at my pale cheeks.

"Awh! Brenna sweetie, you didn't have to get us anything!" She exclaimed, a wide grin settling across her face.
"I thought it would be nice... and go ahead and open it!" I exclaimed smiling widely as she tore into it pulling out an $75 gift card to Apple-bees.
"AWH! Brenna deary, this is so sweet!" She yelled and wobbled from her chair to give me a hug. Jaime's father took the gift card and examined it.
"Wow, Thank you so much." He said smiling softly as Jaime's mother was hugging me extremely tightly.

"anytime!" I exclaimed hugging his mother back. His parents returned to their seats and I returned to my place right next to Jaime. He leaned over softly, slightly embarrassed.
"You didn't have to get my parents anything..." He mumbled bringing his tattooed hand up and awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. I giggled and shook my head.
"I wanted to."
"Oh, well I wanted to get you something as well.." He mumbled pushing himself up from the love seat and making his way out of the living room, leaving me in the room with his parents a sort of awkward tension floating through out the air.

"Well, Brenna... Jaime seems to really like you, especially if he has brought you home to us. We're not the most supportive of his girlfriend chooses... but you seem like a keeper." She winked causing my face to flush a bright color of red almost to the shade of crimson.
"hey shh.." Jaime whispered slightly walking back into the room a mutt in his hands a smile spread across his face.
"OH MY GOD DOG!" I yelled completely excited as Jaime walked over the little mutt puppy in his arms making cute little faces.
"You Like?" He asked holding the dog in his hands while it squirmed around as he took a seat next to me.

"Are you kidding me Jaime?" I stated watching the puppy with wide eyes. His smile slightly drooped, his face overcoming with worry.
"I LOVE IT!" I screamed and bent down to kiss the mutt's head giggling as it sneezed and struggled in Jaime's grasp. He chuckled softly handing me the puppy.
"Now Brenna.. Brenna? Brenna.. I need you to listen." He said attempting to get my attention as I was zoned out and entirely focused on my puppy.
"What lol?" I said looking up watching Jaime's lips curl into a smile as he softly laughed shaking his head a bit.
"This is not your puppy.." He stated, which caused me to have an instant pouting reaction.
"But-" I began but he cut me off.

"No, let me finish. It's our puppy." He finished causing a loud and I bet obnoxious squeal to escape my lips earning a slight chuckle from him.
"Awh Jaime, don't kill the poor girl!" Jaime's father said causing me to squeal and giggle louder throwing my head back because I couldn't contain the amount of emotion in my body at the right exact moment. Jaime laughed slightly and pulled me up from the couch, the dog still wrapped tightly in my arms.

"Alright, Mom, Dad... Brenna and I shou-" Jaime began but I cut him off with a cough. His gaze flickered to me, him being utterly confused.
"You forgot someone.." I corrected him giving him a slight glare.
"Who did I forget?" He asked, still in his daze of confusion.
"You forgot the mutt." Jaime's mother spoke up, as I nodded in agreement.
"The dog is not a person." Jaime corrected facing his body towards me causing my lips to fall slightly at how he was challenging me.
"You're right, The dog may not be a person, but it's a living thing so therefore it should be included in when we are about to leave."
