“VAN!!!”

“Oops, sounds like my cue to leave! See you around, Eii-chan!”

“Get back here!”

And the realm-wide game of tag began. The pink haired boy chased the brunette through every corner of the garden. Those who were watching them could only laugh at their antics. This was a near-daily occurrence. The brunette would cause some form of chaos, leaving the pink haired boy to either suffer (figuratively) or clean up the mess. Or both.

From what little they could hear from the younger boy’s yelling while flying at top speed, it appeared this time it was some sort of incident relating to tea, cakes, and… salt?

“How could you, Van?! I thought we had a truce for today!”

“Waaah!! I saw the two jars there when I was flying by and I couldn’t resist! Besides, when I thought about how cute your angry face looks, I just had to!”

“My tea party was ruined because of you! I’ve been looking forward to this day for weeks! Apologize to me and Eiji right now!”

“Ahh!! I’m sorry!!!”

“Don’t laugh when you’re apologizing!”

After who knows how long, the two landed back where the tea party was held. Eiji was no longer there, but he left a note saying that he’ll be back with the actual sugar.

The brunette turned to the younger boy and gave a sigh at his downcasted face. “Sorry for ruining your day, Nagi-chan. Really. How about I leave you alone for the rest of the week to make up for it? Or help you with some tasks? And I mean really help, not mess things up on purpose.”

“Don’t be silly. You wouldn’t survive two minutes of helping me with my job.” He rolled his eyes before giving him a smile, much to his surprise. “The tea party would have to be shorter than planned, but chasing you around the realm like that… That was the most I’ve ever flown in a single day! I was upset at first, but it ended up being really exciting!”

“Aww, Nagi-chan! Does that mean I’m free to give you a hug?”

“Don’t push it.”

“Aww… Well, no matter! There’s always more fun to have in every other corner!”

“Take care of your responsibilities first.”

“I can multitask, no problem!” He began to flap his wings. “Nagi-chan, you’re one of the youngest angels I know. You should have some more fun, instead of having to worry about all the complicated prophecy stuff.”

“It’s a job that our Holy Father entrusted to me. I can’t just ignore it.”

The brunette turned away. “...Suit yourself.”

~~~~~
“What’s wrong... Nagi-chan? ...Getting... tired already?”
“Says… the one breathing hard…!”
The two could no longer feel their wings. They were both on the ground, their hands on their knees to keep them steady. Seeing as they were both unable to attack each other for the time being, Gabriel took the chance to observe his surroundings.
They were in the far corner of the garden, quite a ways away from the rest of the fight. Seeing as they were behind the tower, he doubted any of the angels or demons could see them. They were alone.
“Hey, Van-” He stopped himself. Was it really okay for him to just refer to him with his old name?
“Y-Yeah...?” Seeing that he responded (still panting, what a geezer) like nothing was off, the younger decided to continue.
