I dodge Carter's punch and grab ahold of his leg, pulling him to the ground. He groans and gets back up. I smirk.
"As fun as this is, where's Fallon? I haven't had a chat with her in a very long time." I mock pout. He grits his teeth and throws another punch at me. I catch his arm and twist it behind his back.
"I'm not really sure what made you dogs think that attacking my family was smart...but spoiler alert? It's probably the stupidest thing you could've ever done with your pathetic life." I spit out.
I toss him aside and glance at myself in the mirror. Fuck. He messed up my ponytail. I actually looked cute. I notice him moving and spin around, kicking him once in the face. He groans in pain and clutches his bleeding nose.
"Has anyone ever told you that you're a disgrace as an alpha?" I ask.
He grits his teeth and glares at me. "Has anyone ever told you that you're a mistake?" He replies. I let him stand up. I giggle at his insult.
"Sweetie, I may be a mistake, but at least I can actually lead people. Your pack sucks because of you. I mean, look at you. You're weak. You're losing to a girl." I taunt. My words give me the reaction I was hoping for. He clenches his fists and stares at me. Hatred and anger swarm his eyes.
He throws another punch at me. I don't bother moving and just let it hit me. I burst out laughing at his attempts.
"Was that supposed to hurt? Look Conner, I'll go easy on you and let you go right now. While you're in here losing to me, your pack is probably slowly dying off. You know, blood, guts, snapped necks. The whole shebang. My suggestion is to take them all away, let them heal, regroup, and come back with a smarter plan. Capiche?"
He growls at me, making me sigh. "Just go." I mumble. He pushes past me and leaves my room I hear him yell for his pack to stop fighting and stand down.
I giggle and open the hidden door in my closet. Good. They ran. I close the door and cover it back up. I sense someone behind me and immediately spin around, wrapping my hand around the person's neck.
"Fuck, Serena." Alaric hisses. I laugh. Whoops. I let him go and sit in front of my mirror. I inspect the minor injuries I received from Conner. A busted lip? That's it? Talk about disappointing.
"Are you okay?" He asks. I glance at him and nod.
"I'm good. Conner has a weak punch anyway." I tell him. He nods and looks at my closet.
"What were you doing over there?" He questions. I hesitate to tell him but Stacy's words ring in my ears. If that was actually her, she wouldn't lie to me or risk my safety. I can trust this douchebag.
"I sent the girls through a hidden door to keep them safe. It basically is underground tunnels that go everywhere. Hopefully they were all smart and went home. The only people who know about it is my family, the girls and now you." I inform him. He nods.
"Are my brothers okay?" I ask, suddenly realizing they weren't in here. Alaric clears his throat and nods.
"Yeah. Well, kind of. One of the wolves snapped Seth's neck last minute but Sam pounced on him and now he's dead in your living room. Seth will wake in a bit." He says with a shrug.
I nod and go sit on my bed. "What about you?"
He smirks. "Aw, you actually care about me? How cute." He teases. I roll my eyes.
"Alaric I'm serious. Are you okay?"
He nods. "I'm good." I narrow my eyes and walk over to him, lifting his shirt. A nasty purple bruise sits on his abdomen, almost taunting me.
