Chapter 1Timer: 53 day's left
At Reidville University, we're known for throwing some of the biggest and best parties in the state; the only downside of that is if you have to wake up at 6 am with a killer hangover.
Last nights events were blurry, and I couldn't even recall how much I drank, but I knew it was too much. I had built up somewhat of a tolerance the months before coming to college. Senior year, I would party every weekend while my parents were on business trips.
I grabbed my coffee cup from my desk, pulled on my jacket, grabbed my keys and book bag as I headed out the door of the small dorm. Cody was asleep, but that was expected since he has only showed up to three of his morning lecture classes in the past two weeks. I'm still surprised how he hasn't flunked out and headed back home to South Carolina.
My mind was scrambled as I entered the elevator and rubbed my temples. I can't go this whole lecture with this headache. I took a sip of my coffee and grimaced, not the best I've made but it'll make due.
Walking out the building, the drop in temperature helped wake me up a bit. I anticipated the days where I won't be dripping in sweat walking from class to class, and it's finally the time of year for tailgating and big Friday night parties.
A arm wrapping around mine pulled me from my thoughts. "How'd you sleep?"
I turned my head to look at my girlfriend Brooklyn, as she smiled at me warmly. Her wedges clicked against the cement walkway, and her brothers followed close behind.
I rubbed my eyes sheepishly, "As good as I could, I have a killer headache that's probably not going away anytime soon."
She giggled and clasped my hand. "Well," she tucked a strand of hair behind her ears. "We were thinking about meeting at the student center after class just to hangout, I'm sure you'll be there."
I nodded once and beamed at her. "You know I will. Just text me when the crews all there."
She smiled happily and pecked my cheek before turning and walking to the business building. Her bothers, Chase and Adam walked up beside me. Chase was apart of the football team, along with one of my well known friends, Gabe. They were the stereotypical jocks, and each have a body count higher than their grades in Chemistry. Adam was quiet and reserved, and you could come to him for any paper or analysis for English and he could help you get the whole thing written in about an hour. He has only been to a couple parties, mainly spending his time studying to become a neurologist. The only social event he goes to is football, supporting his bother dispute having any knowledge about what's going on in the game.
Getting bumped in the shoulder, I turned to Chase who was walking along side with me. We both had the same English class, which was helpful in coming to see Brooklyn more due to her hanging out in her bothers dorm.
Entering the class, I put my keys in my backpack and sat my coffee on the desk, taking out a folder, binder and my old green mechanical pencil that I've had since junior year of high school. Chase scratched his head and flipped through his notebook, getting out the questionnaire for our assigned reading for the week.
"Dude, I'm so glad we are starting conference games this week. Professor Phillips always is lenient towards student athletes because of our schedules."
