8 - Comfort

Y/n POV

It was the end of the day and I was walking to the gym for the boys' volleyball practice. As soon as I walked in, all eyes were on me.

"What...?"

"What do you mean what?? Your literally the talk of the school right now!" Yamamoto says. I look at him confused.

".....why?"

"She seriously doesn't know??" Kuroo butts in.

"Apparently" kenma says.

"What did I do? Is it something bad?"

"Remember your gym class?"

".... why were you in my gym class?"

"I was passing by to give something to coach Nekomata but then I saw you playing that intense volleyball game against Shibayama, Inuoka, and Lev." Kuroo says. I clench my fist.

"Ok and?"

"People are talking about you!"

Oh no... "please don't tell me they.... they figured out my nickname?"

"Queen behind the net? Yep"

I facepalm and groan. God I didn't even want to play volleyball that day and now this?

"Just don't talk about it"

"Why not? I think that's pretty cool!" Lev says.

"Because I don't play anymore"

"Why?"

"Because I just don't... I can't" I whisper. I walk off to go fill the water bottles.

"Fuck..." I mumble as I'm filling up the waters. As I'm filling the waters in the hallway, I see Amai Aiko pass by.

"Hey Bokuto!" She smiles at me. I just look at her with a tired face and mumble "hi" back to her. She looks at me concerned.

"You alright? Are you mad about the rumor-"

"Yes" I cut her off.

"Aww it's ok." She gives me a hug and I just stand there frozen. Then she proceeds to talk to me.

"So I was heading to my house but since I'm here anyways, can I watch the volleyball team practice?"

"Uh sure I guess. You can ask the coach and he'll set you up somewhere"

"Ok cool thanks!" She runs off.

After a few minutes, I get to the gym and I start walking. I'm so tired and pissed off right now that I'm not watching where I'm walking. I walk into something, knocking it over. I look to see shibayama on the floor on top of Aiko.

"I-I-I-I'm s-s-s-s-sorry!!"
He stutters while blushing a hard red, while immediately getting off of her. She's blushing a lot too. I can't help but snicker as I keep walking. The whole team is also laughing. Shibayama glares at me. And I laugh even harder.

After practice, Aiko goes up to Inuoka and Shibayama. She starts praising them for their good work because she hasn't seen them play for real yet. Inuoka is smiling at her while Shibayama is still blushing, embarrassed about what happened earlier. I see Aiko start to walk away, but then she pats both the boys shoulders before walking away. I can't help but feel a weird feeling.

I feel left out... and jealous. Why am I jealous? I know I like Inuoka but why was I jealous when I'm pretty sure she doesn't even like him, it was just a move out of habit for her?  I shook my head and started walking. I see shibayama walk the other way with Aiko. Then I see Inuoka catch up to me and stand next to me.

"What's wrong? Why'd you keep ignoring us?"

"Nothings wrong"

"You liar, you don't just play hard like you did in gym because you can. Obviously something pissed you off"

"Sō?"

"Hm?"

"Am I.... do you t-think I'm a....... a s-slut?"

"What? Of course not. Who told you that?"

"The b-boys... umm" I mumble.

"Ugh I hate those boys. They just don't like you. Don't let them get to you"

"No but they didn't just say that... they said you and Yūki thought the same thing....."

"What? Of course we don't think that! Why'd you believe it?"

"I....I don't know..." I barely whisper. I wanted to cry but I didn't.

"Well he and I would never say or think something like that. Your a good person. Your just stubborn and hard to get along with at first because of your lack of talking but me and Shibayama don't mind at all"

My eyes widen and I look at him. Did he really mean it? We started walking when he decided to break the silence.

"You want to walk to the park?"

"Sure" we walk to the park.

The moon is bright tonight, the sky is a clear dark blue and the stars are shining bright. We sit on the creaky wooden bench and he sits close to me.

He puts his arm around me and we sit like that for a while before he stands up.

"Hey I want to show you something"

I follow him.

After 5 minutes of walking, I find us in cleared area right next to a huge pond. There's cattails and lillies sprouting from it, along with fish in the clear blue water. My eyes widen as we stand next to eachother. I look at him and he smiles as me. Then he pulls me in for a hug. I freeze but then hug back.
