"I wanna go home." I used to say that everyday but I've grown accustomed to what was gonna come. I would never truly be home until the day came where I departed from this world and adventured into the hereafter. I feel like death and separation of one's soul is much more comforting than being alive. There are too many rules to being alive. You have to pay to live, you have to pay to see, you have to pay to travel, you have to pay to simply be. You can't enjoy life sometimes, its just an overwhelming and surmounting presence. A burden of things. Its a debt you can never truly be free from till you are gone from this world. One of challenge, of difference, of contempt yet surprisingly of all the good things too.
Love. Kindness. Caring. Nature. Humor. Passion. Friendship. Equality and... Art.
I and Midlore West-Stein just finished school. It was an insufferable four years. That's not to say the gun-slinging, sword fighting, demonic clones of my school's peculiar outcast antagonist and adversarial confrontations with a disgraced police commander were any better! I do just miss my friends though. They were what got me through the tough days ahead of us. Juno, Keido and April's talking and laughter and many jokes allowed me to be whom I was meant to be. Not a Rage Knight quite like I was known for being, but just... A boy. I could be myself for once. I honestly don't feel like I was quite cut out to make it to adulthood. Adulthood was stressful enough. Everyone complained. The teachers complained, the principal at times, my friends' parents seemingly always complained and I just... Didn't know of too many happy adults. It was frightening to be honest. I had to express myself though, so I wanted to take up inventing and developing things. Like the mood ring for glasses.
They'd be my compass for finally making sense of my navigation into my adult life following Indy Hills. I'd see people perfectly.
I told Midlore about the glasses and mood rings. He nodded "mhm, yeah" a lot each time I did. It seemed to always pass his head and circle back around. He didn't really care but I couldn't care less. It was gonna be a way of seeing people for whom they truly are. Maybe a bit unconventional, but popular things always start from unconventional ideas (even if stolen or expanded upon). I spent a few years of isolation, loneliness and just quite not fitting in. So for me to actually accomplish the designs of these glasses and mood rings this summer would prove quite beneficial.
I wanted to see what made people kind. Which was the only motivation for my designing them. I wake up annoyed, afraid, anxious. I have an abundance of fear. Why is my name even Damon ? Is that somehow a shorthand reason why All-Seer made these people become attracted to me with their angers and their evils? Or for the insurgence of the demonic entities, the Diseased ?Me and Midlore walked down a rough, ragged road teeming with rocks and stone. It was lonely and some place shy of the neighboring park. I had scrapes and cuts on my lower leg. Sand in my shoes and cut up rubber soles. It kinda bothered me to be honest. I even had dung beetles quivering and humming past my ear. I swatted one and turned to Midlore. All the while, walking to no place in particular, Midlore didn't seem bothered. He hummed an anime song soundtrack to himself in an infinite loop. It wasn't any regular anime, it was Super Duper Raijin Revenge! A story about an avenging Rajin, the God of Thunder taking on a league of human bounty hunters whom had kidnapped his brother, Fujin.
