Chapter 2

    Shiningheart let out a shocked gasped. "My kitten, a med cat?" She was obviously appalled by the idea. "I think it's a great idea." Amberstar looked at Blueleaf. "They will become apprentices in less than a moon, on the same day as Tundrapaw gets his shelloner name. God I will be happy to be back up to three shelloners, I really have missed Lionclaw." Shiningheart sighed. "I dont want him getting hurt, he will be happier and safer as a medicine cat, wont he?" She was looking at the ground. "Of course," Amberstar's caring voice spoke up. "and my sister will take care of him, as will you other kits mentors." She smiled up at the worry full queen. "Then fine, I agree." She said, but they could tell she still wanted him to be a warrior. "You are dismissed Shiningheart." Amberstar said.
    Blueleaf looked at her, concerned. "You should get some rest, ok?"
"I will, but do me a favor." Amberstar said as Blueleaf was getting ready to leave. "Yes?" She looked a bit confused. "Could you call my shelloners from the end of the bridge, but not Tundrapaw, ok?" She started grooming her pelt as to be a bit more professional in front of other cats than her sister. Blueleaf walked out, leaving Amberstar there alone.
    She heard two sets of paws coming across the bridge and sat up straight. "Amberstar." She heard Jaypelt's voice from outside. "Come in." The two shelloners walked in calmly. "You asked to see us?" Jaypelt said, as he and Shelltail bowed. "What do you think about Tundrapaw?" She looked at Shelltail. Yes he was her apprentice, but her and Jaypelt helped each other out. "I believe he is ready to become a full member of the clan." Jaypelt said, both of them sitting. "Shelltail?" I need to get her to use her words. She was the quiet one, but she was strong and smart and a good choice for a shelloner. "I think he needs the experience of being a shelloner, we have trained him and tought him everything he can learn without experience." She said respectfully. "Hmm... well, I think we are going to have some new apprentices soon, and it is already crowded in there.... he will be given his full name on the same day as Shininghearts kits get their apprentice names. You are dismissed." Amberstar concluded. With a final bow the two left. Amberstar crawled back into her nest and soon fell asleep.
