Chapter 3: Psychokinesis

Today was probably the day Hailey asked Jacob out, so im expecting something extravagant to happen, yaaay.

Thats not the only thing though, its the day we do the maths test the one that Jacob has been studying for. I hope it all goes to use, for his sake. I, however, didnt study as much...but who gives a fuck anyways?

We all went into the study hall and was allowed 15 minutes of studying. Obviously I didnt, I fell asleep for the next 15 minutes until a Jake started calling me to get my ass awake.

The tests were handed to us, already knowing I was going to fail I hesitantly took the paper. My mind thought back to Hailey asking Jacob out, he liked her alot to be honest but never said it out loud to me knowing how she treats me. He says that shes a terrible person but he cant control who he likes.

I started the test it seemed easy but thats how it always be, and when you get it back its a whole different story. I looked up to see Hailey leaning closer to Jacob I didnt think much of it, that is until I heard the annoying shout of my frustrated teacher.

"Jacob and Hailey! Are you cheating on this very important exam?"

"No I-" Jacob started but got cut off by Hailey.

"I'm so sorry sir, my puppy went missing a few days ago and I really didn't have time to study-" she over exaggerated and started tearing up, I rolled my eyes. She can't even take care of herself let alone a pup.

"Detention! Both of you!"

"What bullshit!" someone said, it took me a long while to realise it was me.

"Excuse me, Ms. Bell?"

"Jacob has been studying for this stupid test for weeks! Now Hailey the slut cheats off of him and he gets into trouble? This system is bullshit!" I slammed my desk, I was enraged with anger.

"You can take that language to detention too young lady!"

I scoffed and slouched back down into my seat. I thought it was all over until I saw Zoe stand up.

"I'd like detention too Mr...something." she stated.

"What?"

"Y-yeah-I want detention." What is she doing?

"I'm sorry but the school system doesn't work like that."

"Yeah but they can blame you for shit you haven't done. The school system is fucked up." I muttered, but loud enough for them to hear.

"Yeah, I think so too." Zoe agrees trying to get into trouble.

"You're not getting detention Zoe, sit down."

She huffed and sat down exactly like how I did. I looked over at Jacob who was staring back at me. He sent me a thumbs up and I blew him a sarcastic kiss. The one thing we both agreed on when I moved here was that if one goes down, we both go down. We always had detentions together most of the time it was me and he had to do something to get detention too.

I continued the test and I left the last two questions blank, something about a triangle and pythagoras?

I walked out of the class heading to the gym for detention. Jake caught up to me and swung an arm around my shoulder.

"Was it just me or did I notice that you were more pissed than you're suppose to be." he started off.

"Just you." I muttered and kept my gaze on the gym at the end of the hall.

It reminded me of this one time at my old school when my parents found out I was being bullied and came straight from work to sort the kids out, it was a whole drama scene in the gym. I was never sure of who told them up until today, but it stopped the bullying so it kind of helped.

When we entered the gym I spotted Juampa, Ashton and Hailey. Hailey? How did she get here so fast?

"Guys!" I looked back to see a panting Zoe running up to us. "Help me get detention."

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I don't exactly want to go home." She fiddled with her fingers.

I frowned. "Then go to the library."

"Will they let me stay after school? My old school never allowed that." She looked in my eyes and smiled. I gave her a blank stare and and nodded.

I turned away and walked towards the bleachers. Zoe walked away, and Jacob strolled to Ashton and Juampa. They were speaking about whatever boys speak about until we heard a door bang. Everyone's head shot to where the noise came from but I just say there bored, use to this.

The princaple came and stared at us face by face and stopped when he got to mine.

"I'm surprised you're not expelled Mrs.Bell."

"Call me Ana." I said sarcastically. Although I don't see us on first name bases.

"I need you all to sweep out the gym, dust off the bleachers and put up all these banners for the festival coming up, good luck." and he walked out.

I sighed and lay back staring at the ceiling.

"No way am I getting my clothes dirty, so let's play a game." Hailey sat up and stared at me. "truth or dare."

"And suddenly we 10 year olds." I muttered, sitting up and crossing my arms.

"Ana, truth or dare?"

I sighed and stared back at Hailey. "Truth" I shrugged.

"Why are you always so glum?"

"Because I want to be."

"That's sad."

I shrugged it off even though I want to say something back so bad.

"Hailey truth or dare?" Jacob butt in.

"Dare." She stated confidently.

"Shut up for the rest of our time here will you?"

I gasped and the rest laughed. Hailey though...

"How dare you speak to me like that! My father will hear of this." she huffed.

Ashton scooted over to me. "hey." he whispered.

"Hi?"

"Are you busy this Friday?"

Is he asking me out? I mean that is how it starts right?

"No, I'm not busy." I gave him a side smile.

"Do you think, maybe, we could catch a movie? There's this cool new Sci-fi coming out and I was excited to go but Juampa don't really-"

"Yeah I'll go." I cut him off, he was rambling because he was nervous...for me?

"Really?" his face lit up. "Cool I will pick you up-"

"-I could meet you there."

"Or I could pick you up."

I thought about it for a second, I don't really like people coming to my apartment. But there's no harm in it I guess.

"Sure." I gave in.
