vast green stretches forward like a blanket; not a warm one, though. its hugeness imprison you, no matter how hard you try to get rid of it; your only option is to accept the excruciating substance of the truth: you are trapped in an unending labyrinth created by your own mind.

run, dear, run, but this time you will not find the way out. there is only darkness. and then, a luminosity can be seen ahead; suddenly it starts to spread like every disease about to devastate an entire country, or further on, the world. the flames consume every inch of the leaves around you, just as your soul is consumed by the hole of unknowing within your being.

is there something as voracious as being lost in your own existence? adrift in the inconstancy of life. but aren't we all? crushed by the weight of that same reality which we try so hard not to deal with, afraid of what may be waiting for us at the end of the path we have chosen ─ intuitively, or by logical thinking ─ or even if we are going to reach its end.

so many wishes have been left behind along the way, but not the feeling of being less than a marble statue left unfinished ─ oh, the mischief of time! ─ the grandiosity of its value forgotten among the moss growing on its skin. however, they are not just ruins of worlds long forgotten; they are ruins of what were once strong desires, wild feelings, daring dreams; and they are here as a reminder to never let those emotions die.

but fear, it can easily have the same dimension of gasoline, running through your veins like combustible for an explosion that, soon or later, you will not be able to prevent. that amount of accumulated energy screams to be released, so if you are not careful enough, your high temperature will suffice to make you end up in the middle of a fire started by no one less than yourself. no exit.

maybe you can cry your heart out one more time, but even the endless quantity of water falling from your eyes won't be enough to put it out.
