Ch. 2 Are we under attacked?

Sophie looked at her surroundings with a curious gaze as she happily smiled when she sees some dogs walking across the street with their owners holding their leash to keep them from running away. 

" Puppy!" Sophie happily calls out as she points at the dogs.

As he chuckles amusingly, Jonathan turns his gaze to the dogs, finding Sophie's excitement towards the canines adorable.

" You like those dogs, Sophie?" Jonathan curiously asked.

" Puppy! Cute!" Sophie giggled as her hands lightly tugged on Jonathan's hair. 

" We are here," Martha calls out to Jonathan and Sophie as the trio stands outside the flower shop.

Sophie looks away from the dogs as she turns her gaze to the flowers inside the shop. The red-haired female excitedly points to the lilies that are in some vase. 

" Lilies!" Sophie happily calls out to Jonathan and Miranda. 

" Those are some beautiful lilies," Jonathan complimented.

" Don't worry, Sophie. I'll buy some for you since I promised that," Jonathan reassures Sophie as he follows Martha into the flower shop.

Inside the flower shop, two-year-old Lana Lang runs through the store as she waves her wand since she is wearing a Fairy Princess costume that her parents bought for her for Halloween.

" Afternoon, Nell," Jonathan politely greets his and Martha's friend, Nell Potter, also Lana's maternal aunt.

Nell looks away from Lana as she turns her gaze to Jonathan and Martha. 

" Ah! Jonathan. Martha. So, good to see you two. And who is this adorable Pirate?" Nell warmly smiled at Sophie, who is adorably pouting.

" Me! Scary Pirate! Argh!" Sophie held her curved finger out so that Nell could see that she is scary.

Jonathan chuckles amusingly.

" This scary Pirate is Sophie Walker. She is our neighbor's daughter. We are watching over her while her parents are on an anniversary trip," Jonathan informs Nell. 

" I see. Sophie is one scary, Pirate," Nell goes along with Jonathan as she warmly smiles at Sophie. 

" So, what brings the Kents and their scary Pirate to town?" Nell curiously asked Jonathan and Martha.

Jonathan puts Sophie down when he noticed Lana staring at them curiously. 

" Soph. Why don't you play with this adorable Fairy while Martha and I talk with Nell?" Jonathan asked Sophie as he gently pinched the red-haired female's cheek. 

" Okay!" Sophie responded as she runs off to Lana. 

Martha warmly smiled at the two young girls as she turns her gaze to Nell. 

" I am looking for some Red Tulips," Martha politely tells Nell. 

" Can I get some Lilies for Sophie? I promised her that I would get some," Jonathan politely asked Nell. 

" I can get some Lilies for Sophie," Nell responds to Jonathan. 

" However, I am not sure if I have any Red Tulips in stock. But, let me double-check in the back. Would you perhaps like Tigar Orchid? In case there aren't Red Tulips?" Nell asked Martha, who often glanced at the two young females to make sure Sophie is doing okay. 

" Thanks, Nell. But, Martha has her heart set on Red Tulips," Jonathan kindly smiles at Nell. 

" Red Tulips are indeed beautiful flowers," Nell laughs.
