You sat behind the front desk with a blank stare as you zoned out while being screamed at by a guest.

'One more day of this bullshit,' you thought to yourself.

You had spent all of college working at the same overpriced hotel where every guest thought they were better than you and demanded the absolute best. Starting about two months ago anytime a guest started screaming at you all you did was zone out. You knew once you finished school you would be out and you had graduated last week, today was your last day. Tomorrow morning you would be starting your drive to Virginia where you were about to start a new job.

"I'm sorry sir we'll get that solved for you," to be fully honest, you had not heard a single thing he had said and had no plans on fixing whatever the hell he just yelled at you for but it made him walk away so you didn't care one bit.

"That must get old." You looked up to see another guest who was waiting in line to check in.

"Yeah, but you also get used to it. Name?"

"It should be under Reid." In seconds you had pulled up his reservation and already had the room key in his hand.

It was a shame you were actually good at your job, but you had worked there for four years.

He gave you a polite smile and headed off to the elevator with his suitcase. He was quite cute compared to the other guests you usually saw here. It was either frat boys with daddy's money or old men who wanted to do nothing but complain.

Finally, you watched as the clock struck nine pm and your last shift ever was finally over. Instead of going home you decided to slip into your normal clothes, jeans and a black hoodie that sat nicely on your hips, and headed to the hotels bar for a drink before you said your final goodbye.

You sat on the uncomfortable barstool and ordered your usual. You looked around the bar with the realization finally hitting you, you were getting out and never coming back. You sighed taking a sip of the drink the bartender has just placed down.

Suddenly a familiar voice had spoken to you. "Seems to me like you've had a rough day."

You slowly turned your head to the right where the man you had previously checked in was sitting with his eyes focused on you.

"My last day, and everyday I've worked here was rough," you chuckled, "I'm finally getting out of here."

"You'll miss it when your gone."

"Never in a million years." You took a sip of your drink at the thought of ever returning.

"Why do you hate it so much?" God this man was nosy, which would usually piss you off, but weirdly enough you stayed unbothered and told him more.

"Nothing good to remember about this place." He gave a slight nod and changed the topic.

"Where are you going?"

"Virginia, it seems nice enough and I have a good job waiting for me there."

"Virginia's nice, I like it there if that means anything to you." He gave you a warm smile and stood up from his seat.

"Hopefully I'll feel the same way." You finished the drink you had been sipping on during the conversation.

"Maybe I'll see you around, y/n." Your jaw slowly dropped but before he could even see your expression he had walked out of the bar. How did he known your name? I mean sure you had a name tag on earlier today but you saw him for no longer than thirty seconds.

You shook it off and decided to walk out of the hotel for hopefully the last time. Oh the nightmares you had of this place.

During the drive home your thoughts were filled by the man. You had no idea who he was besides from what his reservation said. You hadn't even remembered his name. You thought his last name was Reid maybe? But you weren't sure, your memory had gone hazy an hour into your shift. Maybe you'd see him around, probably not though.
