Ness layed in his bed, wide awake. It was 4 in the morning, but the teenage boy was still up. He looked up at the ceiling and sighed. Suddenly, a memory flashed in his head.

The two boys were walking in a forest. The sun shined down directly on the them, making them worry. The blistering heat mixed with foot pain sucked. Lucas stopped, making Ness bumb into him.

"Look."

It was a beautiful pond. A little spot has been cleared for them to sit down, And even stepping stones were placed in the shallow lake. A small waterfall sang in the ears of the young teens.

A smile formed on the pair of boys lips, as they ran over to sit down and relax. All their worries had dissapeared.

Small-talk had been formed, mostly about school and family memories. Lucas had gone silent and made Ness worried.

"Hey... Am I annoying you?" The boy adjsted his baseball cap and stared at the ground.

"What? No! I really like being with you Ness."

"Really?"

"Yes, really."

Ness stared into Lucas' blue eyes. They were round, small and delicate; yet seemed as if they have seen everything in the world. They had so much sparkle and life in them.

Lucas laughed, making the brunette cock an eye.

"You're staring!"

Ness hid his face in his baseball cap, embarrased. This made the blonde giggle even more.

Ness slowly lifted his cap away from his face and instantly started apologizing.

Lucas lifted his pale hand and placed it onto Ness' tan one. Ness freezed and blushed. He stayed silent.

Lucas let out a weak laughter, making the brunette cock his head.

"I wish this could last forever."

Ness noticed Lucas' facial expression change. He was smiling; but he didn't seem happy. His eyes went from sparkling with excitement to swelling with tears. His mouth curved. The boy sniffled and covered his eye with his knuckles.

"I'm sorry Ness, I'll go."

The pale one shifted, but felt a pull at his arm. He looked down and saw Ness with a worrying yet serious face.

"Hey... It's ok."

Lucas sat back down, closer to Ness. Lucas put his head on the other boys' shoulder. He quietly sniffled.

Together, they looked at the beautiful sunset. The colors blending together like a painting. The sky reflected onto the clear water, almost as if it was glass. The grass, itching at their legs and arms.

Ness wanted to stay there with Lucas forever.

Ness' breathing became uneasy. He felt his eyes become wet and his cheeks heat up.

He wiped his eyes with his arm.

"I want to go back..."

"To when we were kids."
