"Y/N, come on, we don't have all damn day!" my mother shouted at me, from downstairs. I rolled my eyes, as I zipped up my maroon colored suitcase, and headed downstairs, making sure that I had everything I needed for the trip.
"God, you take forever to get ready. It's not like we're going to see Justin Beiber or anything." my mom, Linda, said, angrily opening the front door and getting in our family van.
"Mom! stop with the Justin Beiber stuff! I'm over him." I replied, slamming the car door behind me as I got in, and buckled up.
"Yea, sureee. So you just want me to ignore that lifesize cut-out of him?" my mom asked, chuckling, as we drove off.I looked out the window and began to close my eyes, as it was 5;00 A.M. The drive to the local airport was about an hour long, so I got bored pretty quickly. I fell asleep, and before I knew it, we had arrived. I awoke to my mom violently tickling me, which is what she has done to wake me up since I was 3. If you can't tell already, I'm an extreme deep sleeper.
"MOM! Stop! I'm up, jeez." I yelled, unbuckling my seatbelt and heading out of the car. I stretched my arms and yawned, the crisp cool morning air drying my mouth. I checked my watch.
6:13 A.M.
Jeez. I go to bed at this time usually, I thought, helping my mom carry our baggage into the airport.ON THE PLANE
Mom and I walked down the aisle to find a good seat. I had told her like a week before the trip that I called dibs on the window seat, so I reminded her. Since she's borderline dyslexic!
"Ma, remember, I get the window seat." I whispered, smirking, as I filled myself into a seat near the back of the plane.
Yes!! Window seat, here I am! Time to take some cute insta pics of the sky! 😍
My mom grabbed my luggage from my hands and stored it in the compartment above the seats. She sighed, and sat down.
"Aww, what's wrong? You wanted the window seat, huh?" I asked, smiling all teethy.
"Just tired." she replied, yawning, as she pulled out her phone.
"Don't forget to put it in airplane mode." she reminded me, taking off her coat.
"Thanks."about an hour later
I had been feeling kinda light-headed lately, and I didn't know why. I have never been scared of airplanes, or nervous about anything, in general. I don't have the flu, or the cold, or anything, so I was getting kinda worried. Suddenly, a burst of turbulence began. The plane started to rumble and shake, and I started to cry, I never knew I was scared of turbulence out of all things! My mom had awoken from her nap, and just laughed at me.
"It's just turbu-"
"I KNOW." I stammered back, embarrassed by my tears.
"Okay, calm down. We'll be there in like 2 hours." my mom replied, smiling. She took out her phone and went on Tinder, being a single mom and all, she was really lonely.
My light-headed feeling had gotten 10x worse after the turbulence stopped. I didn't wanna alert my mom because I knew she'd just blabber on about how I worry too much, even though I never do. I wasn't even nervous on the first day of school, and that's a big deal, to me.
I began to close my eyes, even though I wasn't even tired. I felt my body relaxing and I wondered what the frick was happening?! And before I knew it, I passed out. I was out for about 3 minutes before I woke up to even MORE turbulence.
"Mom, I just passed out, oh my god." I stated, shaking my moms shoulder.
"You're probably just tired, calm down." she said, scrolling through Instagram.
"Mom, I'm wo-"
"Don't be such a worrywart, gosh."The rest of the flight was fairly normal. A couple babies stared at me, which I think means I'm pretty, right? And an old woman complimented my curled hair as she walked past our seat, heading towards the restroom.
We had finally arrived at D.C, after what felt like an eternity.
