POV: MADELYN

I sat in my bed for what felt like hours trying to fall asleep. I couldn't though, my mind was racing. Thinking of if I said the story wrong or I got even one little detail off. What if they find me and hurt my family?

I tossed and turned finally falling to the darkness.

Dream:

"What are you doing here?!" I screamed jumping up from my bed. Tayler and Bryce standing in front of me with guns.

"You didn't think you could put us away that easily did you Madelyn?" Tayler chuckled coming closer to me.

"GET AWAY!" I screamed and started kicking.

"Let's have fun." Bryce pushed me down and climbed on top of me.

"Calm down!" Tayler screamed. He had my hands above my head.

"STOP I DONT WANT TO! GET OFF I HATE YOU!" I screamed. Doing anything in my power to get him off me.

"Madelyn!"

"Madelyn! It's Lila!"

Dream is now OVER

I was breathing heavily my heart racing. I looked up and Lila was holding me down.

"Are you okay?" She asked, she was looking out of breath as well.

"G-get off." I pushed her away from me. "I'm fine, it was just a nightmare..." I rubbed my arm.

"You can talk to me Madelyn, we're still sisters. I know we haven't talked in more than a year, because of those assholes but you're still my sister." She took my hand in hers and squeezed it reassuringly.

"Lila, so much stuff happened in that year. I lost myself, I'm not the same person I was before. I've been through shit, shit that you would never believe." I took a deep breath. "I don't know if I'll ever be the person I was over a year ago...I don't think I'll ever be that Madelyn again."

"You should get some sleep, goodnight M." Lila got up and went back to her room. I sat there scared to fall asleep, scared to see their faces once again. The morning arrived after what felt like ages I didn't sleep not one bit. I laid there consumed in my thoughts.

"Madelyn?" My dad knocked on the door.

"Come in." I yelled. My dad walked through the door smiling at me. "Hey dad." I smiled.

"Hi, I got you a late birthday present." He sat down on my bed next to me. He handed me a beautifully wrapped box.

"You didn't have to." I smiled, still tired but not able to sleep.

"Well it was your birthday." He laughed. "And you're 18!" He clapped his hands excitedly. I continued to unwrap the box.

"Oh my...you really shouldn't have." I sat up all the way.

"Well you need a new phone, so here you go."

"Thank you so much dad." I gave him a huge hug, it was an iPhone 11. I turned it on it was already set up.

"I'm gonna make us some breakfast. Also Kaden is here and he wants to take you somewhere." My dad got up and left. I put a lock and it then started to get dressed.

As I started putting on my old jeans I realized they were too big for me, as well as my shirts. I just went with a bright yellow hoodie, small black shorts from my freshman year, and I threw on a pair of yellow converse. I just brushed my hair out then my teeth and washed my face.
