Your Name: Elliana Scott
Your Age: 17
Your Location: L.A.Before I met him, I wanted to stay in the background. To do my own thing. I am responsible. I stay quiet and know my place. I was happy with this. Never seeking attention or drama. Perfectly happy with invisibility. Average.
7am at school
I am with my best friends Maya and Camilla. Maya is goofy. Fun to be around. Always doing something weird. Typical "crackhead", as one might say. Camilla is fiery. Sassy. She will say whatever she's thinking without hesitation. She is bold and fearless.
As for me, I'm just me. That sounds so sad. It's not supposed to. I am happy with who I am. I have a good relationship with my mom. I have a couple of good friends. I get good grades. I'm not bullied or picked on. People just leave me alone and that's how I like it.
Living in LA is complicated. People are so fake and only care for themselves. Not everyone, of course, but a lot of people. When you're more reserved like me, people tend to just walk all over you. I'm glad I have Camilla to protect me from anyone who could take advantage of my personality.
The three of us stand at school. Senior year baby. People see senior year as dating and parties, but I have different plans. I see my senior year as another year to get through before I can finally leave. I don't need to have sex or drink or smoke."Finally seniors," Maya exhales as she takes this in.
"Fuck yes!" Camilla explains. She and I are very different by the way.
"One more year," I smile. I love these girls. We are interrupted when Maesi, Camilla's girlfriend, runs up behind Camilla and hugs her. They are really cute. I like Maesi a lot. She treats Camilla well and makes her happy. I know that Maesi's parents don't understand their love, but they love each other either way.
"Hey gorgeous!" Maesi says.
"Hi baby," Camilla smiles.
"Get a room!" Maya says, over-dramatically gagging. Maya has never been one for PDA. I just giggle.
"You guys ready for first period?" I ask.
"Elli, when have I ever been ready for class?" Maya responds.
"We better go though. I'll see you ladies at lunch," Camilla says, rolling her eyes. She doesn't like school very much.
I don't love school but I also don't mind it. I am somewhat indifferent about most things.Lunch
"Hey ladies!" Camilla says, she's always the last one to lunch.
"Where's Maesi?"
"She has first lunch." I can see that Camilla is bummed about this. I am too. I like Maesi and I would love for her to be closer to our group.
The three of us sit down to eat and talk about drama and senior year. We laugh and things feel so normal. I can't imagine life not being just like this. I can't imagine how things could possibly change. Things are so unbelievable average, and I am sure that things will be like this forever.I now realize how I couldn't have been more wrong.
Hey! I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. It's short and not very juicy. Y'all know how first chapters are. I've got to introduce the characters and such. Things will get better from here, I promise :) ~~Author
