Wow.

He really is Jay.

My Jay.

♡|♡|♡

We've been staring at each other for the past 10 minutes now. After that whirlwind of emotions in our tearful reunion, things became...

Awkward.

But the one thing that remained constant was Jay's smile.

His dimples had gotten deeper over the years.

I have so many things to say, but I just can't find the correct sentence structure to phrase it.

"Are you well?" "Are you happy?"

Obvious questions, I know... but I'm genuinely curious.

How did he live for the past 13 years?

Did he missed me too?

"Somin." Jay's mellow voice brought me back into my senses.

I adjusted my hair awkwardly "Yeah?"

"...."

"H-How were you?"

I bit my lips as my brain fished out the days I've been crying alone, blaming myself for being childish every single day. Battling with my self image till I'm 16 because...

Because Jay isn't there to tell me that I'm good enough.

He wasn't there to hug me and protect me from those bullies.

He wasn't there when I was at my lowest.

"I.."

Before I let my thoughts blow in front of him, my eyes betrayed me as a single tear rolled down my cheek.

"Somin..." Jay stood up and rushed to my side and kneeled as he pulled my hands into his.

"...."

"No, I'm fine. I.. It's just, after so long. After 13 years I got to see you again, and-"

He nodded "And..?"

I shook my head, "I want to apologise, to apologise for what happened before you left for South Korea 13 years ago. To apologise for the tears of regret you brought with you back to South Korea. Everything-"

But I was saying everything in my head, nobody else heard it other than me.

Jay looked at me worriedly, "Somin, are you alright?"

I nodded "It's been long, Jay. Sorry for losing it."

He heaved a sigh of relief and sat on the couch I was on "That's a relief, so...How were you?"

I gave him a small smile and played with the ring on his finger "It was great, became an author...graduated from SNU a year early. Started my writing career, volunteered at an orphanage..."

My eyes fixated at the ring on his finger, it was a special ring I gave him on his birthday. The same year he left.

"You kept it?" I grinned as he nodded. "I brought it to the Goldsmith to alter the size of it after I turned 17."

Jay looked at my necklace "You kept yours too."

My hand went up to my neck and touched my necklace with the ring. "Yeah, it wouldn't fit on my ring finger anymore. So I made it into a necklace."
